What caused the late drop. It happened to quite a few stocks. Nothing that I could see.

If HFEL is closed fund how does it keep issuing equity?

The eastern markets are doing well hence the current strength. I suspect there is still mistrust due to its lack lustre performance over the last few years and of course the yield over 10% and I suppose there is a general sense of apprehension globally and generally. I will be using todays PHNX divi to add to my HFEL holding. Anywhere other than London seems a safer bet anyhow especially with Reeves getting ready for the next phase of her demolition of the economy in Nov.

Yep. One thing you cant complain about is the yield. Its been my best for quite some time. Now the sp is a much different matter. I am however hopeful that my patience will be rewarded as we move inexorably back to 300 and beyond !!!! But a little more haste would be most welcome

stamp duty, fees and the spread. all adds up to a pretty penny and takes some recouping. it not a good equation.

if the sp drops considerably there will be no end of clever after the event posters informing one and all about how they were lucky to have sold today and bought back in tomorrow and conversely if the sp moves little or even rises the same ******s will inform us how they were so close to selling but so glad they didnt. ignore them. its nothing more than a gamble which makes for poor investing long term.

I always reinvest my dividends but as stated - on my terms and not necessarily in the company that paid the dividend. I also always transfer the dividend into my cash account and usually let them accumulate until there is a purchase that I want to make - the platform fee is therefore of much less of an issue. It would irk me if the reinvestment share price was at unnecessarily high price.

Its my opinion as well. I will still be here though come March and the 5.25% part of the divi.

Not much interest in the divi it seems
