The big problem is that another budget anywhere like the last one (and judging by the commentary so far it could easily be worse because the government back benchers are completely impervious to economic sanity) and the IMF will be booking their flights to London. Gilts are showing the way - it would appear the financial world' referee is about to show Reeves, and Starmer -and us- the red card. Scary

Im thinking that if I sell all my stocks apart from those that earn a good dividend between now and Reeve's next attempt at armageddon and then view the wreckage I could do better than its looking like they are going to do in the run up. What ya reckon chaps - a good plan or a daft idea?

Nothing is priced in or done imo until Reeves next disastrous budget as it will no doubt be. The only thing she can do to stop a run on the £ and thus a begging bowl held out to the IMF and the resultant catastrophe is to drastically cut public spending especially on welfare and the idiots on her back bench of idiots wont countenance that. This govt is so numb that they are not capable of steering the ship away from the rocks - its full steam ahead ---KERRRRBAAAAMMM

Its the position of the company that concerns me. This debacle isnt going to lift the sp in the foreseeable future. Why would any serious investor put money here except for a punt pure and simple. I wouldnt be at all surprised if Cox and Banszky havent the integrity to resign. Clearly none of them have the ability to run this company effectively of profitably for shareholders (maybe for themselves). Im out and its like having a rotten tooth extracted

Fair enough. I hope your research pays off for you. It didnt for me but I sold the majority of mine in Sept 2022 for around 106. A hunch or gamble if you like but it was becoming fairly clear that what I thought (researched) would happen looked less and less likely. I have held on to some as a gamble I suppose. I only read briefly and have to admit I no longer see this as a good long term investment and to be honest I no longer have great faith even in battery storage as a whole ( at least for investment). But lets hope for a good lift today. My hunch is that the board will prevail - unfortunately and I hope I am wrong once again with GSF

Doubt it. They have held em for quite a while and their input will have had an effect on the Boards future approach - well I would have thought but with this bunch nothing is certain. They could be piqued I suppose but thats not a good reason for action.

Long term is a good term

Building out a bit of cash to return to shareholders instead of the Board and management wouldnt go amiss. Seem to have been building things for ever without much in the way of return to shareholders.

They have unloaded their 50% in the palm oil partnership with Wilmar have they not for around $70m havent they and whilst they couldnt flog St Tropez to anyone they have passed the book in the US to Emerson have they not?
