This is an investment in misery. Its also a mystery investment where you have to guess the dividend. If it drops in before we Jan as must be expected then the sp will take an even bigger hit (if its not already priced in as a cert). If Big Rock follows in the footsteps of Ferrymuir then it will be at least 6 months behind. The UK grid is a shambles. Trump could be on his way. Gordon Bennett what else? Seems to me BP have got themselves into a real old tangle. Looney wanted to ride two horses - the black one and the green one and ended up with neither of em knowing which way they were supposed to run. Now hes gone no one seems to know whether to shoot one , give all the fodder to the other or keep em both on life support. Their investors are the same - half of em are embarrassed to see their oil company making profits. Milliband has no such qualms - he wants to see the end of them in the UK.. Reeves probably has her doubts but ideology rules. Not ideal for investors in BP. The board must be debating their best move. Surely it cant be in the UK under a labour govt dedicated to their destruction. Of all the oil majors BP is the last I would currently entrust with my hard earned

Its hard to see that a British based O+G Co. is any longer going to be a serious attraction to any investor. Why would you? Sub 400 has to be a very real prospect in the very near future.

There are 4 divi payments which give SUPR an 8% yield (currently). Not many stocks drop pre ex div. Little point boasting an 8% yield if enough investors sell before each chunk is banked to drop the sp. If there were it would be a dangerous strategy and tell a story about what investors think about the outlook. All imo of course.
