Interims – Record order book, new production onstream Filtronic has reported 1H26 results on track for our FY26E forecast, maintaining revenue at around 1H25’s record level. Forward-looking indicators have been particularly strong during the period, with a record order book in hand and with significant progress on new technology developments covering new bandwidths and new applications. The company has completed its move to a new headquarters and manufacturing facility, which provides substantial headroom for growth. We make no changes to our FY26E or FY27E, but we are increasing our target price to reflect the strong commercial momentum, with our new target of 225p representing 23% upside to the current share price.

Conclusion: Order intake was very encouraging during the period as previously reported. We believe that the new contract wins underline the strength of Filtronic’s position with its largest customer SpaceX, as well as broadening the growth opportunity with new wins in defence and space. Our increased target price is based on an EV/EBITDA multiple of 29.0x applied to a conservative EBITDA scenario for FY29E and discounted backwards to give a current year target price. Details of the methodology are on page 8. The target price of 225p represents 23% upside to the current level.

My opiniion: Buy.

Sales weaker but not as bad as the Dec profit warning may have led us to think. What transpires is that management are failing to mitigate the impact of the higher NI. They probably had a plan, which for some reason did not work as expected.

Why you say he's not focusing on retail is detail?
