JN.1 variant3 Jan 2024 11:05
In the ongoing battle against the COVID-19 pandemic, the emergence of the JN.1 variant has raised alarms as it rapidly becomes the dominant form of the virus worldwide.
Health experts, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), have identified two additional symptoms associated with this variant, highlighting the need for continued vigilance.
The CDC has previously cautioned that the JN.1 strain is thriving in various countries, including the UK, the US, Iceland, Portugal, and Spain, and is spreading rapidly in France, China, and India. While the variant is still being studied, health officials fear it could pose a serious health threat.
Recent data from the Office for National Statistics has revealed that, in addition to the commonly reported COVID symptoms such as runny nose, cough, headache, weakness, and muscle ache, individuals infected with the JN.1 variant have reported experiencing trouble sleeping and heightened anxiety.
