September brings the reopening of schools, which can heighten #RespiratoryVirus spread.
So, we're spotlighting our genesig® #SARSCoV2 Winterplex assay, which accurately identifies #FluA, #FluB, #RSV and SARS-CoV-2.

I think this govt. are in panic mode what with one major disaster after another and an election due next year. They know not what to do for the best re Covid and dare not push testing and risk letting the genie out of the bottle again -hence the lukewarm seemingly non existing testing situation. I think they are playing with fire as I know of many Covid cases across the UK and long Covid is presumably still with us. Again, Nova seems to be missing a trick by their abject failure to advertise their superb approved saliva test which must surely appeal to many particularly with winter just round the corner and schools/Uni's returning .
So who are our main oral LFT competitors? All I can find is a concern under the cosy name of Home Health UK whose oral test is provided by the Chinese of course. It beggars belief that there appears to be no wide spread publicity on Nova approved test so you can bet your bottom dollar that 99.9% of the UK population are completely unaware such a test exists and that probably goes for the rest of the world -- you couldn't make this up -- Ygene marketing - where are you!!!
Thanks Kaeren - very informative. Ygene looks like a promising acquisition. Most SH's appear to be on holiday now being peak time but the SP still makes steady albeit modest progress and £1 seem very achievable before Christmas. For once, am looking forward to the AGM late October and suspect there will be some board changes announced by then. 2024 could prove a whole new ball game!
Guys, it's time to pull together! Nova have had their own fair share of misery and infighting by undesirables (I am being polite) big time over the past few years and are, we hope, just beginning to emerge from the gloom. Many of us (including moi) were foolish to the extreme and are still facing life changing losses. Again, many of us, I suspect, have been in Ygene shareholders' shoes at one time or another -- I certainly have and know how it rankles. Let's hope this proves a new dawn for all of us and we can claw back some losses! WELCOME all Ygene LTH's -- I for one am looking forward to hearing about the better aspects of your concern. Doubtless weak links in both Bod's will be given the boot so we can forge ahead. As I said, methinks exciting times lie ahead.
... several questions cross my mind. Does our latest acquisition make Nova a more viable prospect of a T/O by a major player – say after a hopefully sooner than later advantageous DHSC settlement? Also, I suspect that Ygene has not been the only concern under the microscope this past year so question 2, who else would consolidate our standing? It would not surprise me if more rumblings are afoot before our delayed AGM end October. Any further activity would enhance the feeling of a settlement going our way. Interesting times ahead methinks.
I agree wholeheartedly Kaeren -- bugbear is the right word! For years we have played around with trying to promote NCYT - remember in GM's reign, we had those quirky little videos and funnies featuring GM by a class poster whose name escapes me. It seems ridiculous now when most of the information about Nova was gleaned from research by a few diligent posters including yourself. Yourgene on the marketing front could prove the breath of fresh air we so sorely need and what with their interesting range of products, the future from lots of angles looks very bright!
PS.I should have added protection levels of those below 70 will have reduced considerable by October I imagine and I cannot see the younger element exactly clamouring for a booster and that goes for flu also -- they have probably had enough jabs and want to forget about it and therein lies the danger.
Gizmo - In some cultures the blue moon was considered - 'fortunate, something to celebrate, and a perfect time to start a long-term goal or make plans for the future'. Given my age, I am not too happy re long term goals aspect as I would like to see a decent return in my lifetime to justify all the time wasted looking at this forum :) Being optimistic, I would like to see us crack a £1 by year end and we all know how this share can take off. I think Covid still lurks uneasily in the back of many peoples minds and numerous folk are still suffering from long Covid. I will certainly buy some LFT's -- provided they are ours. This govt. are staying remarkably quiet about the disease as I guess it's the last thing they want to discuss having enough major problems on their plate without worrying the public and after all, an election is not far away. This warm spell could change dramatically next month like last year when we faced a long miserable winter.
...may be turning. Hopefully we have passed our all time low period and this is traditionally a dead time of the year market wise. Yourgene has added some much needed excitement - and boy don't we need that! September is just round the corner and vaccinations for the elderly kick off again early October. Unless there is a late bid, I suspect Ygene will be part of the family by year end. I like their website -- quite punchy compared to Nova so hopefully we will have the sense to use their expertise as we are abysmal in this area. Then we roll into 2024 with all that entails on the DHSC dispute with the chance of an earlier settlement than expected. Also, I would not rule out another acquisition sooner then later and our BoD may have woken up and been stung by the merciless criticism from shareholders. Our delayed AGM takes place end October. It does not take much to change market sentiment especially if there is talk of peace on the Ukraine front -- so many balls in the air. I could be naive but it has been an exceptionally horrid time of late and as I said, the tide might just be turning!
Thanks Kaeren - encouraging to hear that but frustrating that Nova appear SO reluctant to broadcast this information. They are hopeless at blowing their own trumpet -- wonder if ygene could add anything to this important side of the business -- they cannot possibly be worse!
Interesting post simmulla -- thanks for posting. I have actually noticed quite a few people locally recently wearing masks and know of several Covid cases. Friends in Zimbabwe also inform me that being their 'winter' Covid is on the increase.
