I’m a simple soul and look at the travel sector ,particularly airlines ,as having great potential over the next decade.The Covid debacle proved to many that possessing “stuff” was all well and good but actual experiences and travelling to places is irreplacable.

Labour influenced by eco warrior types can impose extra taxes on the Oil Industry,Energy companies and even Banks and us plebs will be cheering them on if it saves us paying more income tax If they put obstacles in the way of us accessing readily available affordable flights to the sunshine they’ll be asking for trouble.

Positive Sentiment for IAG etc within the investment community will return until then we will just have to wait until that time arrives and try not to stress out - maybe a nice holiday will help!

I’m basing my expectations over next 3 years on a return to a peak price , for however long that peak may be,of £4.I am assuming that during that time the IT will be sorted,a decent standard of of in cabin service returns that appeals to what in old language would be described as “normal” customers and WW3 is avoided. I don’t think that’s too much to ask for.

My research indicates in Feb 2020 SP was c£6.30

The SP shown on Google at that time was .£4.20 and is ,I believe, the discounted price after dilution .I think you have therefore discounted the already adjusted price in your calculations.

Whenever I meet deluded earth worshippers fanatic opposers to anything nuclear I stop them in their tracks by pointing out that eating a packet of crisps a day exposes them to 100 times more radiation than living next to a Nuclear Reactor.

Unless I’m misreading the article the nuscale SMR is 4 times the price of “ ours”.

According to the article the nuscale SMR offering a similar capacity to RR is 4 times “our” price.

I look at this share in a pretty simplistic manner.

The World was forced from travelling thanks to Covid.

This imposition has had a dramatic effect on attitudes to life.

If the World Economy resurges and ordinary folk have more money in their pocket then the airlines will continue to recover strongly.

If the World Economy continues to bump along as it is presently with the possibility of recessions ordinary folk will still want to travel as a form of escapism from the daily drudgery.

So unless there is a horrendous event such as a terrorist attack I struggle to believe that passenger numbers will collapse even with possible increases in fares to cover higher fuel.It is not such a discretionary purchase as it used to be regarded.

What do you folks think?

Investors who expected a decision this year misread the facts.It was ever thus that the selection process was likely to be concluded no earlier than 2024.HMGovernment are working in parallel to the appropriate authorities who are appraising the designs and so forth ,all this info is the public domain.HMGov by rights should give the order to RR ,we are all of this opinion,but they have to exercise due diligence or at least be seen so to do.It is likely RR will be awarded the majority of the SMR contracts just before the next General Election for obvious reasons.Irritatingly this frenzy about SMRs has overshadowed stunning news elsewhere in the RR group hence this ridiculous drop in SP.Good time to acquire a few more methinks.
