Thought this share was untouchable...does any one know the reason for the fall? I mean whilst the market has been falling this has been creeping up consistently...??

While vast cuts by producer countries and renewed fuel consumption from easing coronavirus lockdowns may soon rebalance oil supply and demand, some analysts and traders see a glut in storage keeping the market in contango for much longer. Does anyone really see this hitting 3.25p again soon, i.e. next week?

Probably never 2.50 but never say never! What worries me is the 2nd wave aspect as lots of countries are seeing a resurgence in covid cases...then you going to have lots of China-Trump turbulence - even more than China-HK turbulence lol you got brexit latter part of the year that could upend supply chains...not so worried about long term crappy stories in press about how execs are going to limit plane travel to foreign countries cos of covid - thats just now international business is done - i.e. over Zoom! thereby impacting demand for airlines>airplanes.

I think Trump will only speak some time late in the evening after UK markets close...so if really bad this could open lower on Monday in the 260's. But suspect this will rise a bit today then fall back to the 280s/270s Monday. Difficult to say. Thing that strikes me as odd is that even if Rolls Royce sold their aerospace business the shares would still be worth more than what they are today. The market always associates/perceives their share price to be only about the aerospace business but its three other business lines are also profitable. Still no point thinking re value/fundamentals cos this ones for the day traders for the moment...

Suspect this could fall in the later part of the day in advamce of Trumps announce on China..

British engineering giant Rolls-Royce had its credit rating slashed to junk on Thursday night in the latest sign of the pressures facing the aerospace sector.

Standard and Poor's Global Ratings said it had cut Rolls’ long and short term ratings to BB and B respectively with a negative outlook, as the pandemic continues to disrupt global air travel. The company had held its investment-grade rating for the past 20 years. 20 years! This is below £3 tmrw for sure.

to me this suggests a market TOP. A think a sensible buy in price might be around £3 or lower if the market falls again...

Makes you wonder why they didnt offload their stake at 3.65 yesterday? Or drip sell it at much higher prices? Is this like saying 90m+ shares are worth around 3.18 for now?? Would welcome peoples thoughts...

(Sharecast News) - Rolls-Royce shares slumped on Thursday after AKO Capital sold 96.7m shares in the aerospace and defence giant.
According to traders, Morgan Stanley placed the shares at 318p each on behalf of AKO via a bookbuild to institutional investors.
