I agree, giving the government 100% control over your wealth, is stupid, it will not actually be money any more , just tokens/numbers/credits on a screen, not money. I have found out that thanks to to the FCA, I can't find any insurer, to provide Gap Insurance for my leased car.

Most insurers have stopped providing cover due tot he FCA opening another possible can of worms, ie mis sold Gap insurance . Now Lloyds bank, finances car leasing so is this another possible claim scenario!

It appears the usual fools whom sign on any dotted line may have possible rights to claim compensation.

I paid £100 for my cover, it appears some car lease providers charge £500 for the same model car as mine, if you buy insurance from them. There is no legal requirement to buy theirs.

They could have closed every tax loophole going.

They could have reversed the right to buy.

They could have ensured every foreigner coming here had health insurance or received a large bill and PAID IT.

Labour will tax banks and energy companies and any company that is the private housing -rental business such as Grainger PLC.

Between 1997 and the present there is not much left that has not been taxed or allowances frozen. That is why they are going to tax private education. After all the tax rises since 1997 we are still in debt!

Those investors whom can not wait, for a Labour, windfall tax to be levied on their bank and energy shares are the weirdest investors. Perhaps Starmer if he becomes PM will insist on paying the higher rate of tax on his earnings instead of manipulating his earnings through dividend payments as Sunak did also to bring his/their tax down to 22%. And will he, being such a man of the people insist on his special pension terms with the CPS being changed .

Will LABOUR BRING IN A BACK DATED WINDFALL TAX for those that Bought and Sold their council homes for a profit, to reinvest THE MONEY in AFFORDABLE HOMES. And to help save the HNS why not make it compulsory that every foreigner arriving here has private health insurance on arrival or their countries of origin have reciprocal health agreements with the UK, in fact why as no government ever brought it in!

Labour are still a very minority number they have to gain enough seats just to become even with the Tories and then more to make a good majority. Things can change, as Harold Wilson said a week in politics is a long time.

If the Scots continue to vote SNP to any extent, then that would affect Labour not the Tories.

Many do not realise it but the wealthy get just as wealthy when interests are high or low.

Historically in the USA (and the same will be the case here) the disparity between the wealthy and the lower earners grew in times of mass immigration, into the USA. Immigrants would work for less, as we have seen here, so suppressing wages .

Considering so many MPs have degrees in PPE ( Politics, Philosophy and Economics) one would think that they would be aware of that . So we could have a Labour government which is supposed to represent the working class, continuing policies that are directly detrimental to the very ones that they are asking to support them. So they will need low rates to allow them to continue borrowing obscene amounts. So those that complain about debt being passed to the next generation will of course make that debt greater !

Unless those with investments in banks wish to see their values drop.

The interest on cash type investments drop.

Their premium bond winnings drop.

Some , Bond prices may rise, but how many are directly invested them?

The current interest rate is not high, the government wants low interest rates to cover their obscene borrowing costs. So that can borrow more. Whom ever wins the next election will be further limited to how they can grasp our money.

Since the Blair years of 1997 up until today, both Labour and Tories have milked the people for everything that they could. Direct taxes, stealth taxes stagnant personal allowances , fuel duty, holiday taxes taxing, heating tax fresh air tax,

As you said, renewables could be ok, for Labour will pour much of their windfall tax take into those companies. Labour will rip the banks off for a Windfall tax and any other financial company such as L&G with large rental property holdings. They would be to juicy a target not too. After all Labour MPs have bought up all the affordable housing to make an easy profit at no risk to themselves.
