Plenty of failings after all we are run by numpties, as the enquiry finds.

Some headlines are rather leaving themselves open to court action, referring to the fire being caused by the cladding!, it was caused by overloading power leads in flat No 16 on the 4th floor. The cladding spread the fire due to it being drawn through the void between the cladding and the wall.

Perhaps if they had the cladding tested by the Building Research Establishment the problem would have been identified, before the material was put into use.

Why did the man in whose flat the fire started disappear, and his lodgers, two females, with the help of the authorities ?

A catalogue of errors for sure, the main being the blind eye to subletting of properties, which resulted in the management not knowing who was actually living in the flats. As a Landlord I have to make sure that my tenants are whom they say they are, for the government demands it, otherwise I can see the inside of a court room. For security reasons they want to know who is whom and where they are.

Flat number 16 on the fourth floor was where the fire began, a two bed room flat, but the small kitchen had a large fridge freezer and two other fridges, two microwave in it . Power supplied via extension leads, that is where the fire started and then spread.

The Ethiopian, taxi drier who lived in the property has vanished, whisked away by the establishment , nothing heard of him!

But he was reported to have others living in the flat, two females .

Not even politicians claim that all the immigrants are highly trained and educated , that myth was blown of of the water many years ago. Over half the worlds population are in the BRICS nations you say, of which most want to get here, in the none BRIC nations. I do agree that our system is not he best, but when I see the boats going back to France I will believe that the BRICS are the future, until then the numbers arriving will keep growing. If the discount is 20% on a £250k home that is£50k every 1000homes sold as such = £50 million, profit, gone for a burton.

Affordable, rent, say £1000 per month less 20% = £200 discount so for every 1000 flats rented at such =£200k per year loss!

So I do not know the contractual agreement between Lloyds and Barrett Homes is it 50/50 or some other split.

But as you say it could just be a can of worms now spilling on to the floor.

How many units does the partner ship intend to build how many will be for sale /rent, is the government sticking its finger in?

Imagine if the partnership disagrees to tow the line, they make a nice profit on the business, then the miffed government has an hissy fit and decides that a lesson needs teaching. Windfall tax/dividend tax/buy back tax.

And the same will go for any other company such as L&G
