No capital growth in cash, yes, but you are unlikely to wake up and find most if not all of it gone .
And are you assuming that most of our/my assets are in cash, for we have rather little in cash about £15000, the rest is spread amongst other assets classes.
In shares you look for both capital and dividend growth, some are happy with one or the other , the wealthy want both.
If shares were such an easy way to get wealthy, those that write telling you how to do it, would keep their secret .
Want to get wealthy in stocks, then start a fund and play with others money, and charge a fee !
PS. I was into being a Landlord 28 yrs before this bank.
I don't hold gold/silver/watches , but did buy and sell them, never paid a premium , never bought of e-bay never from
Bullion merchants, sold it through the Birmingham Cold Company.
We have a good yearly income which puts us in the 10% bracket, so I am more than happy with my investment model.
