Being an only child my parents never received any for me, the first born did not get it.

When our first child was born that rule was still in force so no money for him at first.

Our second child received it, but they adjusted my tax code to cover the money that My wife drew in the allowance .

When they began paying it for all children again they altered my tax code (and other working men) to cover the cost.

So we never (and the same applied to all then) had any money from the state, but they still liked to imply it was a benefit .

Now of course it is an open house for all , don't work, can't work no intention of working come and get it.

Create A National Growth Bond, the government invests in specific industries that create jobs, the investors gets a return say 5% guaranteed. Example that third runway at Heathrow Bond or a Road Renewl Bond. They could even come up with something called NS&I

Those Poles fought because Germany and Russia invaded Poland !

They did not join in after we declared war Germany.

They also fought like many Europeans did for Germany too, the first recorded allied death on D-Day was at Pegasus Bridge a British officer shot dead by a Pole in German Uniform who then did a runner.

In fact they did not want to fight at all for the UK, they just wanted to wait until the Allies had reached Germany -Poland before joining in, but were told some home truths.
