Exactly I know you know that, and my comments were not directed in a way to infer you did not, it is the other fools who get their history from 1. past sources that were written for propaganda to shore up morale, 2. to hide security matters such as that surrounding the enigma machine 3.are just plain made up or interpreted wrongly. Take the Enigma Code that we broke, the code was hidden for decades after the war, because some countries who also captured the machine from the Germans and thought it was unbreakable, so used them after the war had ended, enabling us to spy on their messages.
