Not sarcastic BottleRocket but perhaps I am suggesting something a little more 'detached' from the company website which will naturally wax very lyrically about operations and certainly will not show. E.g if I wanted to buy a brand new VW, I wouldn't make my choice by visiting the company's website. You could argue that this forum is the place to visit for rumour and speculation etc. but it means wading through three million posts.

I recall having seen some nicely worded articles (otther than the official website) about GGP giving a brief history of it's expertise, current projects, agreements and ambition. Sometimes new posters arrive on the forum asking questions that might seem a little tiresome and obvious to the old hands but are clearly not evident to them.

It's a great pity that we do not have a sticky post that remains on the top of the thread giving the above details but can anyone recommend a good up to date blog to which we can refer people? After all, it is in all our interests to attract potential long term holders to the forum.

MFU, it's as I said last time you asked (although you must be itching to know), no-one can really answer that without risking getting chucked off the forum themselves. It was simply a daft comment and proven false by Paddy's satellite.

I noticed that WelshFalcon. How anyone could couch the future production of Havieron as something that is 'a likelihood' clearly isn't up to speed. How much activity and results do they need????

Morning Stuart n all, What a great day for us yesterday! The overall market was bruised badly and looks likely to get hit again today following the Dow Jones slump by nearly 6%.

Here however, we appear well buffered against these awful shockwaves. Not entirely immune but in a good position.

Yesterday, my other half, who is invested in about a dozen diverse companies, had a sea of red figures and only one blue; GGP. The same applied to other shares on watchlists I have drawn up. Today will probably be a repetition and although we may end up with a flatter day here it's not good to see such a dip in international markets.

Nevertheless, the GGP sp continues to trudge upwards on the graph and Havieron keeps giving up its secrets. Wonderful stuff!

When my ex was working at being an ex, she employed Kleinfeld and half the frustration was not being able to talk to her as a human being other through this complete cow-pat of a solicitor. Now I knew that he was a slimeball and he knew that I knew he was a slimeball but that still didn't stop him from stirring things up and helping himself to greater and greater proportion of the already modest estate.

That's why this GGP thing is so ...urgh..satisfying. The horrendous destruction to my pension pot and savings in March took £100k down to £51k. That's to live on, for the rest of my life, on top of the state pension. All of it, I slid onto the 'roulette table' and plonked it on the GGP square in a do or die gamble. 1.35 million shares. Now worth £168k and more to come. Take that queen of *****es!!

Remember that scene in 'Young Frankenstein' where Gene Wilder resurrects the monster and shouts out Life!! Life!!! Well, there you go.

Excuse my ignorance mercedesman but when you refer to people taking positions what does that entail exactly? Does someone says to their broker, "Look mate, I'm only prepared to buy this at 12.5p and I want 500k"? Like a tradeplan as it were. But how does the broker ensure that the price can be suppressed in an open market?

yabs...the expectation is for a price several times higher than the current one! I'm not being facetious but a lot of investors on here are hopeful that the formal estimate of the Havieron resource, the MRE, will give an industry-recognised quantification of what is in the ground and indicate a monster find. This is then followed up by a feasibility study (what will it all cost to get it OUT of the ground).

You can make a rough estimate of 1p to 1.5p per share per million oz of gold and there are other fields too, still in the early stage of exploration, beyond Havieron. Scallywag is one of them and that is showing signs of a great deposit.

So to answer your question, I estimate anything from between 50p and £1 per share within two years. Just my guess of course!

Hi speedy. That sounds like heaven!. I'm not so bothered about the cold though. I'm currently investigating areas with micro-climates, so we will see what that reveals.

1Galdhi, yes I am investigating the 10 year taxation scheme which would be available after six months of residency . What is crucial is getting residency before 31st December and that will be done!

Drusus...not a bad idea at all. Maybe I could sell just a few GGP shares to live on (and we do live quite frugally), plus her state pension which kicks in two years before that of her toy-boy partner.

We will get there. It's all about having fun en-route and this is a hell of a trip!

GGP is completely shaping the next stages of my life! We the intention of retiring down in Portugal and will begin the exploration of where in a few months time.

It does seem to me that the most sensible financial route to doing this is to rent for maybe up to one year before buying. The loss will be the cost of the rent and the increase in house prices, versus the potential gains in GGP to be seen twelve months from now.

It's good to have your own 'crib' but the lure of this company is too much to pass on!
