I'm glad you are enjoying that med sunshine Hopefullygold! I was reading some of the worker reviews on the first link you gave. Quite a mixed bag from the current and ex-employees. Of those complaining, generally it was about a rather inflexible management and the heat. I haven't read other reviews for other companies but you get the feeling that these guys all look like Robert Mitchum and, if they weren't operating mining equipment they'd be shearing sheep. So maybe it is par for the course.

Anyway, on a separate sub text, I was thinking how anyone who accidentally refers to GGP as a mining company gets slapped on the wrist here but it's even better than that isn't it?

When Havieron is up and running GGP will get 25/30% of the profits. They don't have to drive any trucks or shear any sheep. Gervais and Callum can put their feet up, drink beer and watch cricket on TV and watch the bank balance grow, if they want to.

I'm sure I've inserted enough type-cast stuff here to get at least one response from an Oz member "Call that a post!"

Cheers Sanboy. I've noticed I miss out the word 'up' from my original post. I'm well satisfied with the growth of my investment here and what this great company has in store for the future. When this matures and I bow out, it will be from anything but the safest and most boring 'under the floorboards' investment imaginable. It's GGP, then finish. :)

You are possible right on those current levels hydrogen but I sold them all off, or what was left of them and put the cash into in here. They may well be worth a punt now but it would mean selling some GGP to do that and I'm really not inclined. PMO..yep same dive. I barely avoided that one.

As I have mentioned before, I really have to watch myself and avoid trading. I feel like I've made the big gamble on GGP several months ago. It paid off and now I'm content to watch the business grow at it's own pace and from a virtually de-risked base.

I can then sleep better at night!

Before I bought into GGP I had a history of being an absolutely rubbish investor. Here are some cracking examples from my last year of investing:

Echo: Lost 95%
Sound: Lost 90%
Tullow: Lost 70%
Hurricane: Lost 50%
Savannah Petroleum: Lost 50%
Taylor Wimpey: Lost 40%
RDSB: Lost 25%
UTG: Lost 20%

One solitary success story, GGP: Gained 20% to 600% on all staggered investments. Portfolio now 90% from 6 months ago

In view of my superb record in this share buying caper, I shall be staying right here!!

It's around four years old but gives some food for thought about how we can ostracise people who do not share our enthusiasm for a company and praise those, in a self-congratulatory way, for sharing our positive opinions. Thus, we do not see the negatives at all and can become blinkered by our 'herd' belief in the prospects. This can lead to disaster, of course.

I'm getting some deja-vu writing this so I may have drawn attention to it before. It's a thought provoking read.

And no, I haven't dug any holes as yet. I've been otherwise engaged in learning how to aerate the mine using brussel sprouts. However, I still have my 1986 Polaroid Instamatic camera to provide proof of the size of the allotments should I need to seek support from other investors.

Anyway, at the moment, I have quite sufficient potential funding by investing in an AIM company involved in gold exploration. Shares are 12.5 p at the moment but look certain to climb to 14.2 p within the week: Gigantic Gert Potatoes if you must know.

Since I about as close to being a knowledgeable person on mine engineering as I am to being signed up for Barcelona , can anyone throw some light on this?

If I were SB and wanted to get production going on Havieron asap, would it be possible to have two or more production mining methods running in tandem? One giving a faster route to the gold (and hence beating the death of Telfer). The other a slower project to provide access at currently deeper/less accessible points for the future. Could this be done safely and economically?

What a nice story! The napkin note reminds me a bit of how Lionel Messi was signed up by Barcelona. That was also worth a bit of money to the recipient!

I had an inkling that I had a big gold nugget in my back garden. I tested this by going around in a huge circle and then, after digging down around the edge, I shoved my metal detector down each hole as far is it could go. I think I found most of it (although it would seem some may be under my neighbour's garden and the cord wouldn't stretch all the way down to the bottom either). So, I did this volume test, something I found on the internet, and worked out how much gold was down there. You know, the bit that's more or less in my own yard. Seems I have a million quids worth!

There's more. I also own a few allotments up the road. I've been over them and got gold readings there too! I don't know how much as yet. I'll sort it out out soon. Anyway, get a load of this: I know a bloke up the road. Now you know this bloke. This is a bloke you know. He's something in the city. He's offered me £100k for the lot!

Do you think I should take the dosh now or wait until I've dug it all up?

That's cheating panama! I DO think the sp will sneak up to 12.9, at which point the day traders will take all the energy out of it, as ever, and drive it back down again.

I should have written 'possible' announcement Dave. Mind you, it's not as if Havieron is under the South Pole. Al the infrastructure is just up the road, we have had 8 great set of results out of 8, gold is well up. Got to be a goer eh!
