There are pros as long as there is enough work that justifies value for money otherwise you can spend lot of money on speculative science. All of that will have to be raised from either debt or from the markets.

Phil - I have and I don't delude myself with just upsides, its a binary play, a gamble really. I know I can lose 90% on bad data before I will get the chance to sell. haven't you learnt a thing or two about funds getting things very wrong? SO is an example here. You can continue to delude yourself, and you have every right to do so.

Read the trend early and stop getting emotionally attached to shares. I presume in both SNG and here, over the last two years you have swung yourself from very healthy profit to considerable loss. If I was you, I would ask myself why.

If the data is bad here, you are looking at low single digits here… don’t forget the dilution that will have to follow to keep the lights on. Atleast SNG still have £25 million in the bank.

Xenor - look at what happened to sng on Monday 90% drop on opening. As an investor wouldn’t touch this till the data is out, but if you are a trader you can perhaps gamble and make 10 or 20% here and there. But the you will run the risk of getting caught on a falling knife like Sang.

Except here you got caught on a very large falling knife. So no choice but to hang on.

General point, All the signs were there… Atea had failed the trial because of inducting vaccinated population into the trial.

As I feared vaccinations and existing treatments had a huge impact on the trial.

Involvement with 4d is absolute pittance for Merck and they have collaborations with many like 4d. They are not going to lose sleep if anything doesn’t work, they will just move onto the next partnership that increases market share for keytruda.

The important question is who is paying for trials. It’s 4d as far as I can tell.
