Richard Hartman, a Non-Executive Director of FTSE 250 firm Millennium and Copthorne Hotels, sold 132,694 shares in the company on April 3rd at a price of 478.00p each. The £634,277 transaction followed the vesting of around 479,000 shares under the firm's long term incentive plan on March 30th 2009. The company, which owns and manages over 100 hotels globally, has seen its stock fall almost 7% over the past year, equivalent to 34p.

Update on Exploration Blocks Madagascar Oil is pleased to announce that it has successfully resolved the outstanding issues with the Government of Madagascar surrounding its three exploration blocks ("the Exploration Blocks"). Key Updates Ø Following a recent Management Committee Meeting with OMNIS, the state regulatory agency responsible for overseeing the country's oil and gas operations, the validity of the Production Sharing Contracts ("PSCs") for Blocks 3105, 3106 and 3107 was confirmed and the forward work programme and budgets for the blocks were approved. Ø This means that Madagascar Oil and the Government have now resolved the outstanding issues surrounding the Exploration Blocks and there are no further disputes with the Government of Madagascar regarding the Company's licenses. Ø The Company and OMNIS also approved formal amendments to the PSCs which recognise and adopt the minimum work program for the remainder of the exploration term, and allow for the 15 month delay since December 2010 to be added to the end of the exploration period for each of the Exploration Blocks. Ø With the approval of the amendments and the work programmes, activity will begin immediately to initiate a planned airborne gravity gravimetric survey of approximately 21,000 km at a total cost of approximately US$3.3 million for the three blocks. PLANT HEALTH CARE ANNOUNCES AGREEMENT WITH MANA CROP PROTECTION Plant Health Care (AIM: PHC), a leading provider of naturally derived products to the agriculture industry, announces that it has signed an agreement with MANA Crop Protection (MANA), to combine PHC's dry formulated Harpin αβ protein technology for use as a foliar spray in corn, soybeans, and dry beans with select MANA technologies in the USA. In 2012, MANA and PHC will test market combinations of PHC's yield-enhancing Harpin protein technology with MANA's Bumper® and Incognito® foliar fungicides. This program follows the same model that will result in an estimated three million acres of soybeans being treated with Harpin seed treatment in 2012. Financial terms of the agreement are confidential. In 2011, the US-foliar corn fungicide market exceeded $135 Million in grower value. In direct comparison across multiple, commercial-scale farm trials that were set-up and managed by the Iowa Soybean Association's On-Farm Network in 2011, a harpin-propiconazole combination produced higher average yields than the market-leading strobilurin-based fungicides. These foliar Harpin/fungicide on-farm trials are consistent with 3 years of PHC-managed replicated evaluations in which Harpin recorded higher yields and a higher percentage of wins than the non-Harpin treated comparison blocks.

Shares in business services firm Christie Group fell on Wednesday after the firm said profits were down and it was cutting its dividend. The company, which focuses on the retail, leisure and care sectors, posted a pre-tax profit of £0.6m for 2011, down from £0.9m the year before. However, a one-off cost of opening an office in Dubai all but wiped that figure out. Revenue increased by 9.0% to £53.3m but Christie slashed its dividend in half, proposing a shareholder pay out of 0.5p per share for the year. "Financial turmoil in the Eurozone and political instability in the Middle East ultimately curtailed our profitability in the second half of the year, albeit a healthy increase in top line revenue was achieved across the year," said Chairman Philip Gwyn.

UBS has downgraded its rating for insurance group Resolution from buy to neutral, saying that the stock's valuation looks 'less exciting'. Last week, the firm said that it could split its business into two to attract a buyer, something that UBS thinks would release only limited value. "A better alternative, in our view, would be to focus purely on improving the return on enterprise value and doing further accretive deals like Phoenix," the broker said.

Jefferies has maintained its hold rating for pay-TV and broadband group British Sky Broadcasting (BSkyB), but says that James Murdoch's decision to step down as Chairman 'deflects some of the political risk following the phone-hacking scandal'. "The key issue for Sky's board is to be seen as independent to avoid getting caught in regulatory red tape," said analyst Will Smith. Nevertheless, Jefferies believes that Murdoch is an "asset" to BSkyB "given his deep knowledge of the business from his days as CEO and we see his retention on the board as a positive." The broker retained its 700p target price for BSkyB.
