Outlook The rare earth sector, both domestically and internationally, is going through a period of rapid change and development. The White Paper demonstrates the growing importance the Chinese Government places on REO production and the efficient control of its market domestically. This is creating much uncertainty in the short term as market participants position themselves for any new developments. Like most of our competitors REG will have to adapt in the short term but the Board feels that the Company is well positioned to build a solid foundation in the coming months for its long term success. The Board believes that the demand for REO's for new applications will continue to increase and in absolute terms both domestic and international global demand will return to previous levels. Coupled with increasing regulation and control of production both domestically and internationally we believe that the long term outlook for the price of REO's (and more specifically HRE's) is positive.

OPTION TO SELL MAJORITY INTEREST IN SOCO CABINDA LIMITED TO MINORITY INTEREST HOLDER SOCO International plc, an international oil and gas exploration and production company, today announces that it has entered into a conditional agreement (the "Disposal") with Quill Trading Corporation ("Quill") wherein SOCO will sell its 80% majority interest in SOCO Cabinda Limited ("SOCO Cabinda") to Quill, which holds the remaining 20% interest. SOCO Cabinda has a 17% participating interest in the Cabinda North Block, onshore the Angolan enclave of Cabinda. Under the terms of the Disposal, Quill has paid a non-refundable deposit to the Company for the option to acquire, within 120 days, SOCO's entire shareholding in SOCO Cabinda. SOCO Cabinda had gross assets of US$32.5 million as at 30 June 2012. The Group has no reserves attributable to its interests in SOCO Cabinda. The Directors believe that the Disposal is in the best interests of the Company's shareholders as the Group continues to re-focus the portfolio on higher impact projects in which it holds larger participating interests.

SKG to acquire Orange County Container Group for US$340m (c. €260m) SKG.I SKG.L Dublin, London | 24th September, 2012: Smurfit Kappa Group plc (‘SKG’ or the ‘Group’) one of the world’s largest integrated manufacturers of paper-based packaging products with operations in Europe and Latin America, announces that it has agreed to acquire Orange County Container Group (the “Business” or “OCCG”) for a total cash consideration of US$340 million (c. €260 million) (the “Transaction”). OCCG is a private corrugated and containerboard manufacturer with operations in Northern Mexico and the Southern United States (“US”). OCCG employs 2,800 people (2,000 of whom are employed in Mexico), and is expected to generate US$53 million of EBITDA for the full year (“FY”) 2012. OCCG’s strong strategic fit with SKG’s existing businesses is expected to deliver at least US$14 million of synergies by the end of year 2. The US$340 million cash consideration will be funded from the Group's existing cash resources. It is anticipated that the Transaction will complete in the fourth quarter of 2012 subject to customary completion conditions and regulatory approval, and is expected to be EPS accretive on completion. Seymour Pierce kept its "buy" stance for Asian Citrus (ACHL) with a 50p target price. The orange grower will release full year results on 21st September and the broker expects the firm to report revenue growth of 22% to 1.73 billion yuan (169 million pounds), as it benefits from a full year contribution from its fruit juice business BPG. Given strong cash balances, Seymour Pierce believes the group will issue a final dividend of at least 1p per share, giving a total yield of at least 4.5%

Shore Capital reiterated its "buy" recommendation for Amlin (AML), impressed by the insure underwriter's diversified portfolio. The broker noted that the firm has protected itself against large catastrophe losses and believes that it will now focus on developing its presence in Europe. On the broker's forecasts, the shares trade on a 50% premium to net tangible asset value, falling to a 40% premium in 2013 and offer a prospective dividend yield of 6.1%

Panmure Gordon maintained its "buy" rating for Daily Mail & General Trust (DMGT) with a target price of 600p. The newspaper publisher is selling Evanta, one of its conference businesses, for a cash consideration of 58 million pounds, which the broker expects to be used to reduce debt. Panmure noted that the move follows on from the sale of the firm's stake in DMGRA and expects net debt to fall below 600 million pounds by the end of September.
