'Modest premium' to 60p sounds ominous! The best one could hope for is £1 tops I fear. What does anyone else think the offer may be? To think this floated around £4 and reached £6!! Offer will go through aswell just look at ENRC. The Indians will buy back the shares on the cheap and who knows the modest premium may only be 10-20% knowing them.........Not good.

already.....Almost a £2 rise in 3 days which was very hard to believe and now back down from a high of 1436 today. Hoping it rises to £15+ in coming weeks up to the ex-dividend.

Yes surprised did not fall more today given what happened to RRS which fell like a stone before recovering slightly. Who knows what is next? One would hope even a slight recovery in gold price would trigger sharp gains to the upside though.

Has been my best share over the past 2 years. I am reluctant to add any more at this price though - remember they were as low as sub-£26 only back in the Summer. Tends to rise in Jan/Feb and even hit £38 this year. I can see BHP hitting £20 again though soon.

Regret not buying more at £13. Yes seems like that was the bottom. Ex-div in Jan.

Do you think shorters are having fun with this share? Large drop again today for no obvious reason.

Projected yield >8% assuming not cut of course. No debt and apparently Abramovich is one of the owners. Lot of director buying in the summer at these prices which is usually a good sign. Hopefully gold has reached a bottom but who knows?

What are people's views on this? Fell like a stone today. At 52wk lows. Had similar drop in the Summer and was back up at £46 in no time. Appears to have no debt with $350m in bank and cash cost ~ $800/oz. Growing production.

Any bright spark have any thoughts on this and where it is headed? What chance a Glencore/other takeover? Some have speculated GLEN's listing on the JSE opens the door to it making a bid for AAL. The SP has certainly not responded to this speculation though. Yet another terrible day for the SP.........

Another share that should be trading at £45+; being hammered at the moment but fundamentals look good and growing production. Has been as high as £60+ not so long ago....

What a let down the so called strategy day was aswell. Cutifani failed big time - the SP went down instead of up. Hope he noticed....

Regret not selling at 1580 which it was only about a month ago. Hard to believe isn't it?

that the miners have gone backwards on a day when the DOW is at record highs and the FTSE has put on 1%. The only one that seems at a half decent price is RIO. AAL has had another miserable day and seems stuck in reverse. Same can be said for FRES, RRS, KAZ, GLEN, HGM........ China is still growing at >7% is it not? US and UK back growing at decent rates aswell. Markets behaving like all the demand for raw materials has died; fickle as usual......

Had high hopes this morning after the DOW put on nearly 300 points last night but FTSE once again underperforming and this brute of a share only up 2p as I write this! Gold miners being hammered yes but this is a well diversified miner with market cap of circa £20Bn. I predict £12 soon.

Growing production, revenue and profits; great dividend; deserved price should be 20p+

I know about the strikes but how come AAL always falls the most among the major miners and rises the least? This is not all down to the beta index either. Even when the miners are up AAL seems to remain static or worse fall backwards.......

This has proved to be a b*****d share pure and simple! Averaged down all the way which was a mistake. With massive revenue of $25Bn+ how can you not be profitable?

According to accounts ANTO has $12.5Bn in assets and net cash of $1.5Bn. Also with a good margin on copper price with low cash costs. Surely this should be nearer £10?

£20/share at the start of this year. With no debt and net cash of $600m what is it doing at these levels even taking into account the fall in gold price.

A little over 18 months ago this share was at £26. It has more than halved! I appreciate precious metal prices have fallen but surely this fall is ludicrous and for such a well diversified miner? I also calculate they have the least net debt among the major miners at around 10%, cash >$8Bn and with assets of over $80Bn even with the Minas Rio writedown. Average revenue ~ $30Bn/year. So can anyone please tell me why this has tanked so much?? The market clearly unfairly hates this share.
