With MarketCap approaching £4.8Bn surely this will be back in the FTSE100 Reshuffle based on today's closing prices I think?

Not always accurate but quite a large differential today nevertheless.

Really? I thought this simply had to fall to 100p just because it is called 'PoundLand'! That was the reasoning of a good few posters on this and other boards. Still a long way to go to get back up to a respectable SP. Was 300p+ just a few months ago.

Quite a big gap to close there. Surprised we are not at 200p+ already. Just need Tesco +/- another to confirm a bid and this will soar like Home Retail did with Sainsburys. I think most shareholders will accept anything between 275p-300p/share - the story seems to have some credence.

& all those tracker funds will have to load up on MRW stock again! More big buys to come.

The M&A deals that actually happen usually happen without any rumour - a bolt out of the blue typically. Recent examples are Shell-BG (not a whisper); Sainsbury's potential deal with Home Retail Group again came as a big surprise. If MRW are taken out it will happen suddenly without rumours IMO.
