Here is another share being toyed with. Up 5% yesterday on no volume, down 5% today again on low volume. Big big rises for no reason. Disgraceful. FCA does nothing.

The dividend is not exactly huge is it? The SP has hit 221p a few times today so you would miss out by 1p. Most brokers will charge you a corporate transaction fee anyway so probably just best to sell now.

Akin to Morrisons and their Safeway takeover some years back £land and McCarthy made what turned out to be a stinker of a decision with their t/o of the 99p franchise. The SP more than halved from the highs of £4. I believe this floated at 330p The recent placing to purchase 99p franchise was at 280p Unless you averaged down heavily in recent times most LTH would have lost out here. 250p should have been a minimum IMHO

Will secure the deal for Steinhoff IMO

Deadline runs up to 13th July but having missed out twice already I suspect Steinhoff will not want that same feeling again here. I expect the banks would want their 280p/share back as a minimum.

When equity was raised to fund the takeover of 99p stores

LFL fall pretty much as expected. Profits broadly in line with expectations. 99p conversions ahead of schedule. Spain seems to be doing well. Now lets see what the bipolar market made of it. Next 12 months should see a recovery here.

The fact this has fallen from 400p to 140p in no time raises more questions about the state of the stock market and the brokers than Poundland itself. There has been nothing catastrophic in the results yet this share has been crushed like a mining share.

Large sell at the close also £50K+ means almost certainly doom and gloom tomorrow. McCarthy jumping ship was always a bad sign IMO Seems he messed things up with the 99p deal - a case of over expansion and under-estimating costs. Will ultimately come good but may take a year or so.

The way the SP has been I fully expect a poor update tomorrow and this will once again confirm how such news tends to be leaked to the people that matter, well in advance. Morrisons over Xmas another prime example. FTSE plunged 10-15%, 200 points + in a day but MRW remarkably barely moved.

I think bizarre is the right word when it comes to how the SP has behaved here. However the market is so schizophrenic these days and defies all logic most of the time. I think most people bought in here when the 99p deal was finalised and were expecting another run up to 400p as had happened before when the deal was first announced. At that time it jumped 25% in a matter of days. The placing at 280p ensured this did not happen this time but no one saw a drop from 280p to 140p. Clearly the participating banks didn't. Some people are calling 100p as a bottom if only because it is called 'Poundland' - seriously come on! Like I said nothing surprises me about this market anymore. Poundland was either ridiculously over priced for a long, long time or is seriously undervalued now. Time will tell. Personally I think they under-estimated the costs of swallowing up the 99p stores and refurbishing them which is very poor on management's part. Thin profit margins do not help of course. The majority of stores certainly up north seem very busy though. It will probably come good in the next 6-12 months but as a max may rise to 250p in the near term. How the crooks priced it at 400p+ not so long ago is a mystery and as usual goes unexplained. As for the brokers they are a complete joke and have a 'success rate' of making the right call in single figures I would say. Clueless - can't believe they get paid for this. At least they pay a dividend, have little debt and have plenty of time to turn things around. £land will not be going bust any time soon! It is not a mining or Oil&Gas company no matter how hard the short sellers may try to put across this image! I would wait until results (due around 14th April) before averaging down however. Be wary of the bipolar market and the shorters.

I think you mean massively 'oversold'? I do not think the CEO jumping ship at such a critical time was a wise move, even if his retirement was due. Let the business stabilise somewhat then retire. I suspect news about upcoming results has already been leaked in the city hence the relentless decline in SP. I fear results will not be good and some will link the CEO's exit with this. The fall from 400p has been brutal and largely unexpected; certainly the brokers once again got things very, very wrong! This has behaved like a commodity share in recent times.

SP down 3.3%???

Reduction in debt; higher than expected profits and a final dividend greater than the already guaranteed 3.5p would all go down nicely and quite possibly add another 5-10% to the SP. All 3 achievable IMO

I 'predict' a run up to £2 before results next month.
