Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
As we have seen in last hour of trading, a couple of sells of circa 100k and 20k can send it down by as much as 4%. A bit of caution is required on no news.
In terms of transport I think you need to see beyond FCEVs. Where hydrogen wins hands down is return to base delivery vehicles, HGVs, trains and shipping. In saying that. I see that the London electric taxi cab company is going to be supplying delivery vans.
When it comes to cars , electric will be the preferred choice for quite some time and products like those being offered by AFC will deal with shortfalls of charging from the grid. When it comes to aviation, batteries are next to useless in replacing jet engines and biofuel will help the airlines meet their carbon reduction targets. It might be worth watching VLS over the coming months !!
I’ve never been one to take too much credence from the Motley Fool.
I’d much prefer to keep the focus here in the UK and see our government develop a clear strategy and show its support for our best British companies to get the job done which I believe they are well placed to do so.
Companies like ITM, AFC,VLS to name a few are ready to play their part. The Guardian article sums it up really well. This government has all the facts it needs so let’s hope they don’t mess up.
TK claim to have 600MW of capacity per year, over 600 projects undertaken and 10GW of power in operation. That’s sizeable by any standard.
Does anyone know where these sites are and in what setting are they operating. Am I right in assuming that they are likely to be localised Industrial applications?
ps64 ..... I think you might be getting me mixed up with someone else regarding your comment “I don’t think you’ll regret your sale in ITM in the short to medium term” . I’m still invested!
Yes, plenty of competition in this sector and that’s got to be good. It proves there is a strong future to be had. When someone does light the blue touch paper, it won’t be a damp squib and we’ll need manufacturers with world class build credentials and capacity. ITM can be in this league!
Hi PSmith and Toneman,
Interesting but not too unsettling for ITM I would think.
Quite a small installation by comparison to the ITM REFYNE project which from memory is 10MW?
Considering the new Sheffield capacity of 1GW per year, delivery lead time at least should not be a problem. If it’s taken Cummins(Hydrogenics) 12 months from placing of order to deliver 0.5MW, we’ll be in a good place .
Difficult to see their contribution so far. I don’t see that a replacement from JCB is crucial at this moment in time.
With their significant reduction in orders and supply chain issues, JCB have been focussed on releasing staff and cutting their wage bill.
Thanks for the views and yes it is AIM !!
Also not surprised that the Chancellor did little for technology companies yesterday, but until there’s a strategy from government and a statement of intent, we’ll see little movement. It does look though that SP has stabilised and we await the news of orders that will convince investors that this technology has legs.
Thanks Way2L8 .... I must have an abridged version of today’s verdict link.
However, I share Cooleys ambition, it will have to be a quicker build than the new Sheffield factory though if things take off.
I note also the view that the U.K. has so many good technology companies but what we need is good strategy from government.
OMG .... the penny has dropped at long last ..... JACKANORY springs to mind.
By all means read the posts here, listen to the various views but don’t always believe it all. There’s a lot of spin from a few individuals who constantly think they know better than you. Don’t be misguided by others when it comes to investing your cash.
I think that’s a possibility. Thyssenkrupp refers to electrolysis in their pilot plant in Duisburg.
