Just noting that Professor Stephen Harrington, ie the guy quoted in the Sky article today, is the same guy from this article posted by gmcc back in July, liked by Neil Bell. May be nothing but…..

PHD available in Tomlinson lab using Affimers to probe the key sites on a hub protein called Aurora-A, to understand how it regulates cells. I know nothing about this except that Aurora-A dysregulation has been associated with a high occurrence of cancer.

Apart from anything else, it shows another use for Affimers.

All I’m saying is that regardless of the science, there is a huge political mountain to climb to bring fracking back. Let me put it this way, if we can prove it’s safe, which you say we can, and we will be allowed to frack if safety can be proven, which you say we will, then why aren’t we?

What we think on here makes not a jot of difference. Anyone who watched the debate last week will have seen the strength of cross party anti fracking sentiment. I can’t see any party other than the tories even potentially bring fracking back, and the tories will only ever do so if they are in a strong position in govt. I can’t see that happening for some time.

Back in 2020 we partnered with DCN Diagnostics to commercialise it, and the Interims in March confirmed a “critical technical milestone” had been reached and that, after working with a few key strategic partners, it would be launched “later in the year”. Apart from that I know nothing, though I noted that Chris Yates became a Director of the subsid that built it (Molecular Vision Ltd) in July.

It’s interesting because it’s a quantitative rather than a qualitative reader, and DCN are not a small player in the market.
