The retail industry is so vital to our economy and with so many businesses at risk of further collapse at a time our economy needs people out shopping and spending their money. The last thing the country needs in a post Covid recovery state is even higher unemployment levels. JMO. GLA.

Recap : Novacyt is supplying its COVID-19 test to more than 100 countries and approvals for the test have recently been received from Malaysia and Ecuador. The company continues to increase its sales level into the US market and is evaluating potential options to further expand its presence in this important market.

On 15 April 2020, Novacyt announced plans to increase manufacturing capacity to approximately eight million tests per month, and expects to achieve this target in June. It has also signed manufacturing partnership agreements with two further contract manufacturers based in the UK. This provides Novacyt with a total of six sub-contract manufacturers in addition to its own manufacturing sites in Southampton and Camberley.

With the AGM coming up, I expect some positive news in regards to our quest to discover antibodies that can fight Covid 19. Given we are partnering with J&J, Uni of Oxford and LakeParma I am very optimistic of a positive company read out and strong statement on bookings.

IMO- A difficult but bold decision has been made to cut away from losses in Spain and make redundant 5 employees in the UK. I believe that the CEO is taking the right approach to position the company for success through a formal sale process.
For me this will get snapped up given the technical portfolio. I will be investing further and hold for sale completion.

Board had reluctantly decided to terminate further in-house development of MTD201 and close down its MTD201 dedicated manufacturing facilities in Bilbao and offer redundancy to five employees in the UK.

Board's current intention to complete the strategic review by third quarter 2020 and further announcements regarding timings for the formal sale process will be made when appropriate.

Stephen Stamp, CEO and CFO said “We need to evaluate all available options for extracting maximum value from Midatech’s platform technologies. I am confident that Noble is the ideal partner to help us do that for the benefit of all stakeholders”.
