Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
someone in the senior management of this company should be wearing sackcloth & ashes. What muppets who cannot get their warehouse sorted at the most important time of the year and they have not learned their lesson from the last episode of the of the big four over ordering to discount in the next quarter. disgraceful. If the report in the last Sunday Telegraph is correct that in order to offset cash flow problems due to discounted supermarkets gaining strength the big four start reducing their sku's then its the muppets who will suffer. Bounce back ? you will have to wait for the next quarter report if its bad there will be no bounceback.
Anyone got a crystal ball on dividend payment date/s ?. Queen Elvis having worked for a fmcg for 25+ years this is one of the pitfalls but if the product is a market leader they cannot fail. I do agree that it looks like shooting oneself in the foot. p.s. I thought you were out of this stock?
not yet!
A trading update is released in December which is followed by a full trading statement in January - the full statement gives details of performance which the December rns does not - FACT The word is misinformation - FACT - and you're full of it - FACT
............and still stagnant - so where is this "breakout" or did I blink. No there's no upward movement here imo until January and then June 2013. Assuming the news is good !
........into the 8th week of stagnation. It seems the market hasn't a clue as to the true current value of the Company and that will only become clear when the second quarter trading figures are released (confirmed by year end June '13). Forecast of higher net profit than last year = SP up. any other more cautionary news = SP down or more weeks of stagnation. Divi announcement ? well that's a different ball park, Yanar may even get it right !
read again my post dear boy - you have the wrong end of the stick - or as your pseudonym suggests you're living in the dark ages.
for the first time in a good number of years the SP has been stagnant for 5/6 weeks - personally I don't see this moving until after the half year trading figures are released when it can go either way. This is a long term holding, I will give it at least two years for the SP to reach a realistic (Company value) figure. I don't see where the "break out signs" are either - maybe they're in the china shop with the bulls.
The test of service is not under the redundancy payments acts (as was) but a question of the meaning of continuous employment. You do not have the the knowledge required on this subject to continue any further meaningful debate - apart from the fact that this type of posting bores the pants off other readers.
queenie you need to know more than a little something to make statements about employment law : 1. Seasonal workers can claim redundancy pay if their seasonal work is regular - in that they work a season each year. A case of potato pickers was judged and entered into tort three years ago. 2. Staff already under notice who leave earlier than their termination date are still entitled to statutory redundancy pay. Yanar there is no possibility of you being able to calculate what savings, if any, may be made due to fluctuation in material prices unless you are part of the Thorntons procurement team or work closely with them. You do not know their procurement contractual obligations or pricing structures. So I say again the final accounts will tell and nothing else.
I fully accept your points but you don't take into account the cost of: redundancies, lease payments, restructure and other "exceptional" costs that will be a negative hit on net profit. All I'm saying is don't count your chickens before the chocolate egg is laid.
wait till September because this sales info. means doodly squat if the Company has not made a decent profit.
don't know where you guys are getting your info from but the facts are the company has so far (three qrtrs) achieved total revenue of £138m - that's a long way behind previous years and to equal 2011 total they need to pull in £80m+ in the final quarter - good trading year - bah!
I should have started with "If there is anyone out there ............................................
Can anyone advise me what the situation is with this share price - I cannot get my broker to register the correct price. It seems to be constantly at 12p irrespective of the market. thanks, U/hill
I'm new to this share and understand that no divs paid this year. Can anyone advise what the normal share holding deadline dates are for dividend inclusion? thanks. U/hill
