Ukraine is a separate country and should have the right to decide its own destiny and join whatever organisations it so chooses just like any other country.

But they are entirely separate issues to the Ukraine crisis and Prof John Mearsheimer has been an apologist for Putin for far too long!
Speaking from the experience of having relatives and friends in Germany ,formally part of the GDR I totally disagree with his arguments, and it has become clear lately that Putin’s ambition is to go into history as another Peter the Great, or possibly Stalin!
The NATO threat was never there, just an excuse for Putin to use.
That is why he broke commitments made to recognise the Ukrainian borders (as a quid pro quo for the return of nuclear weapons), including the Crimea.
Another consideration was for Putin to secure the large oil and gas fields in Crimea and the Donbas.
Anyway, ask Georgians (just back from a holiday there), Moldovans, Kazakstan (just read up how Russia tries to secure practical control there) and the Baltic states about Russia.
I have then not even started pointing out how the Poles, Slovaks, Czechs, etc. etc. feel,they now better from experience.!

It wouldn't surprise me if Mr Mearsheimer is on Putin’s pay role like Helmuth Schroeder was, the Faust re-incarnate!

The past three years have been some of the most frustrating ever especially for long term holders.
But Martin Horgan and his team seem to have achieved a great deal at Sukari, solar power is virtually ready to go, that along with all the other cost saving measures on the plant and the open pit clear up nearing completion, also with the efficiency improvements allowing easier access /egress in the underground works to the higher grade ore the AISC should start to fall off.
So looking forward to the 4th August update and hopefully the POG being on the up along with our share price!

Still think there isn't a war , there are certainly war crimes being committed and the West should give Ukraine the weapons to be able to defend itself and hopefully stop Putin!

I agree entirely about the solar project, but in the same post I was referring to the Sukari analysts visit in 2018 the year that there was yet another open pit low grade warning with guidance cut after 3 weeks previously predicting 550,000 oz that year, the underground operations had come to a standstill because the only LHDR has self-destructed without any contingency plan or spare parts available, although at that time Mr Pardey didn't seem regard the underground operations as being that important to overall guidance contribution,
Yet it seems now as pointed out in 2015 that it is the underground operations that will be contributing the high grade ore, none of the analysts that visited Sukari picked up on any of the bad practice or potential future failings, or indeed potential strengths of the operation .
I am delighted that the solar plant is coming on stream, well done to the Egyptian work force and everyone else involved, now lets get the bonanza grades contributing to the guidance as soon as possible!!
Time to deliver on the promises!

Unfortunately there is already a war and sanctions aren't hurting Putin , just like all bullies he thinks he can do what he likes because the West is afraid of what he may do.
At least provide some serous hardware and aircraft so that Ukraine can fight back on an equal basis !

So were these visitors lacking in the professional understanding/knowledge of good mining practice, or just not bothered as long as guidance was achieved for a bit longer?

'New Found gold" making fantastic claims ?

We use billboards/forums because as things stand with financial regulations, certainly on disclosure so heavily loaded in favour of companies along with their reluctance to answer private investors questions in full then billboards are an increasingly important way to make contact with other investors to discuss issues and to obtain information in order to be able to challenge or hold the company concerned to account.

In 2015, and again in 2018 all wasn't as well under the gloss at Sukari as being claimed by Andrew Pardey and other senior management, they certainly didn't like what was published in “Seeking Alpha” , but although given a chance they declined to substantiate their denials with facts, and instead carried on with the "Baloney" to investors until the inevitable crack forced them to come clean!

Strange how the wheel turns, here we are again 'New Found gold" making fantastic claims to investors in colourful slick presentations and yet as you point out when reasonably questioned rather than just substantiating their claims they resort to legal challenges!

See the article for Crux Investor about New Found Gold in which a well respected and experienced mining analyst who has been right more often than wrong in the past points out how management manipulates the news flow.

It seems that " New found Gold" aren't happy about being asked to substantiate their claims, but why raise a legal challenge when all they need to do is simply provide the hard facts why certain accusations are wrong?

The problems the world is going through at present is largely due to the tunnels vision of stock market traders the world over who are so desperate and selfish for a quick profit they have chosen to try and shut themselves off in some trading Utopia away from the realities of the wider world in which Newton’s Third Law of Motion states that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction, like throwing a ball in the air. It will rise until gravity overcomes momentum and then it falls back to earth., the same applies the stock markets!
The Covid pandemic has expedited the facing of the realities of just how broken and unfit for purpose the present stock market and governments fiscal policies are the world over and certainly had precedented effects on the precious metals markets in ways.
Covid is'nt over by any means, every new antidote is soon followed by a new variant of the evolving virus and with the growing hostility toward one another by major governments looking for justifications to go to war it's of paramount importance to establish for certain just what was the unital source of the virus.
I can't recall how long you have been in Centamin, but the Sukari operations may have been closed down for months were it not due for the timely and strict Covid controls implemented by the Centamin management and the Egyptian authorities.
