RE: Angie, will wipe out CityFibre.24 Jul 2016 21:00
Right ! Eihumphries let me address a few points you have made. Fisrtly ZAYO and Lev 3 are mainly greater London plays and have limited town infrastructure out of Greater London. CF have specifically said that this is a crowded market so why crowd it more. The KCOM network was disposed of by KCOM as far as I can see because a) they needed the cash and b) their model doesnt suit a long-distance network which is largely what this is, whilst it complemented the interlinking of CF's various town networks. CF are looking very much at the Gigabit Town/City network model which I think is working quite well at present from my direct industry knowldege and activities to date. On the point "Angie can provide an ultra Intelligent Wireless Gigabit service to public sector, businesses and residential customers a lot cheaper than Cityfibre." Would CF want to do this ??? It is not their business, they would provide the backhaul and an organisation like Angie would not be experienced in or willing to dig fibre everywhere themselves. On this point "CityFibre is hardly getting any new customers and with just one customer on its dark fibre network, I can see cityfibres days limited. It will be wiped out." This is clearly a ridiculous statement from someone who is obviously out to de-ramp the share. CF have many med/large and perhaps more importantly long-term customers now, I know this because I have worked with them and so have first hand experience - where is your knowledge of CF's situation coming from, are you in this industry ?
