Funny though the title of the RNS - Results of Placing so you can understand my confusion.
Given this :-
Completion of accelerated bookbuild offering of approximately 19.5 million existing ordinary shares in Hargreaves Lansdown PLC
Further to the announcement on 16 February 2021, Peter Hargreaves (the "Vendor") announces that he has completed the sale of 19,543,974 ordinary shares in Hargreaves Lansdown PLC ("Hargreaves Lansdown" or the "Company") at a price of £15.35 per share (the "Offering"), raising gross proceeds of £300 million.
Definition - An accelerated bookbuild is often used when a company is in immediate need of financing, in which case debt financing is out of the question.
How is this not a placing as there are more shares in issue surely ?
