Ah that old chestnut. I’m in pre Wick so I’ve been pretty patient. The news today pretty much announces no news for 6 weeks imo.

This could put a squeeze on shares in 6 weeks potentially but as ever nothing to see here, this isn’t the RNS you are looking for.

I don’t think this is shorting. It’s simply a technical possibility that this could fall to 2.25. Maybe it will, maybe it won’t. Each person will take a position on that. For sure if there is news which isn’t the PSC next week it’s not going to go down well.

Mention of exclusivity

I don’t think it’s true to say the timeline hasn’t changed as last August we were supposed to be in the final stages. True to say it will be announced one way or another in time but that isn’t much consolation. There could be another year of this shenanigans.

Bearing in mind that we were supposed to be in the final stages of negotiations last August I think they have some explaining to do. I’d like this to come good as I’ve waited a very long time now from the failure at Wick to SS’s exit and the abandonment of the gas fields in Tunisia ( how valuable they must be now!). All eggs are now in the Sarawak basket. Let’s hope they don’t screw it up.

The volatility is perhaps due to the lack of news re the PSC. Is it going to happen? It’s certainly taking long enough. Are the cashing themselves up in order to go looking elsewhere in addition to Sarawak or as a result of failure there? Is the new law firm indicative of a change of direction? Who knows? They need to give us some clarity here.

I guess like most I feel quite depressed about it. UPL does have some political connection but Petros have made it clear they don't owe UPL anything. So it all hinges on political influence with the government and the pressure they can put on Petros. If it comes good I'll be delighted and relieved too but this feels more like roulette than investing.

this is a crap shoot right now. does the company have the influence to swing things its way or not? it's **** or bust and some people are going to protect what capital they have left. i've been in since pre wick and for better or worse i'm going to see it through to the hopefully not bitter end.

So has the timeline for progress as published by the company in its last update altered now? Was anything about this said at the AGM. Precious little information has been passed on about what happened yesterday.

I don’t think so unless they issue an RNS tomorrow morning. I hope they are put on the spot about the messaging which suggested that we were in final stages etc. Time is well due for them to put up or come clean.

Provided that the board can explain themselves believably and that confidence is returned. It’s going to be an uncomfortable day for them hopefully.

They could have said that they are in exclusive talks. Either way next Tuesday will be a huge day.

What the RNS stresses is that no matter what Petros says, the final decision is with the government. UPL are in continuing discussions with the government

Until we get another update chart we won’t know if the timeline will be extended but going on the current information it should be settled by the end of this month.

Well below the level the BoD were buying at and below the placing now. It’s a tough hold right now but these 2 factors give me some confidence and at this level it must be a buy.
