RE: Cineplex9 Sep 2021 02:43
A pity to see a negative aura in the bb tonight.
It’s quite clear to see that the cineplex case is a big point of contention here, however whatever the outcome will be what can we do to change it? If cineplex win, what can we do? If cineworld win, what can we do? Nothing in actual terms except a celebration if we win for the LTH’s.
Reality is that all of us on this bb have some kind of interest in this company, whether it’s to short or to invest for the long term. The vast majority of us here are indeed LTH’s and for that reason I think it’s important to recognise that there will be differing opinions between ourselves. We are all looking at the same information in terms of the cineplex case, the only difference between us here is that we have all interpreted it in a different way. So whether someone says that cineplex is 100% losing, or whether someone says that cineworld is 100% losing, I think it’s good to look at the side of the opinion that is different to yours and to recognise that it’s simply an opinion.
Of course, tensions are running high with the current situation; cineplex plus a lockdown on the cards for October, and the sp is playing all sorts of games on us, but I think it’s nice to have some cohesion amongst ourselves here, we all have a mutual interest in this company and we all have a mutual goal of seeing the sp rise and seeing our investments return to profitability. Being overly toxic and immediately snapping at someone else for having an incompatible opinion to your own doesn’t set a nice atmosphere, and I personally believe that it also deters other investors from joining in the conversation here.
That’s my 2 cents :)
As far as cineplex is concerned, both sides have a very strong, compelling argument. If the debt has been breached as some people who have read the documentation have said, then it’s a very easy win for us I think. My only small question is why is cineplex pushing this so much if they have breached the debt limit? Someone on the Reddit board was saying that he knew someone who worked in cineplex’s legal team before and he was saying that their management only ever pursues something like this if it’s worth their time.
Let’s see what happens, I’m hoping for a cineworld victory. Have a great Thursday all
