Not sure how accurate this is but should give a good indication at least, so thought i'd share. I know market prices in future too, but good to keep an eye on general flight traffic IMO. If anyone has better references too, that would be great.

Rolls have based 2021 predictions of flight traffic to be at 67% ish i think of the 2019 levels, and based on current vaccines progress i'd like to think that this will be getting a decent bump sooner than expected.

I must say i don't think its that black and white though. I think a lot of the pulic here also refuse to listen full stop. Agree that there's a different risk rpfile for the elderly, but the documents that the government published donkeys ago when the case were risiing double quick - clearly showed that the younger demographic were spreading it to the older with a clear trend.

From my experience via everyone i know, most people were incredibly naive, and selective when applying the rules to their own lives but then hypocritically blamed everyone else when they were doing the exact same. And if i'm compeletely honest with myself too (being a hypocrite aside as thats not me), i think i would have ignored many more rules if i wasnt at such a personal risk). Even close relatives knowing my own situation appeared oblivious to the idiocy that they were partaking in.

Yes i do agree the government made some monumental mistakes along the way - most notably come september where everything started to fall apart despite knowing what was coming with winter (i incandescent at the time) , but the great british public also had a huge part to play in the havoc. I'm sure there's many people on here who will appreciate and share the view that it never suprises me how many idiots there are in the world.

Random extra bit of info (sorry if its already been posted), but IATA trialling a Covid Vaccination passport at the moment with UAE. Looks like this will be the way things go regardless of any political affiliations. Officially live in april apparently.

Fingers crossed this applies to everyone whos had one dose too which i think would be the difference between a good travel season in H2 vs a really limited one.

to be honest Arsenal, i'm only spread betting because i don't have the capital to invest and still earn sufficiently.

As you say, can be very costly if you get it wrong, but like with anything =, if you've got your stop losses etc in place no reason you cant be disciplined with spread betting too.

Unfortunately i was constantly looking at it thinking, its dropped 10% from the highs, won't keep going with the additional vaccines coming online, 20%, 30%,40% and on it goes. Very frustrating at this point that it continues to be held down when i see only positives by comparison to 2 weeks ago, here we are with another 3% weekly loss.

I've not got huge sums of money, but at points where i was doing well i was regularly earning between 1-5k a day by spread betting on Rolls Royce. This is certainly not a brag, becasue 1 lazy position that i had taken resulted in some really **** losses for me and continues to eat up huge amounts of my money until rolls royce picks back up again. Point is, i doubt it's lies so can we please drop the personal attacks. these boards are full of enough of this rubbish. good luck.

Thanks for that Londondan. Real shame this wasn't a powered by Napster item. I'm intrigued as to what the difference is between events like this with their huge numbers and MVR's attempts? If I was one of the senior personnel i'd be asking serious questions about why so many of these other performances appear to be so successful whilst MVR's "appear" to have failed based on the quoted "tens of thousands of sales" (in quotes because they havent released any real numbers). What are the marketing team, or the execution team doing so very wrong to be failing by such a significant comparable margin?

Still in for the long term at the moment, but disheartening to consistently see these huge numbers being stipulated by competitors in various forms.

I do agree Bilston. I do think it's a real tough thing to balance for the governmemt at the moment though because it risks months of people careful being severely compromised. I do think the sector needs significant help and hopefully will get it, but also think the back pocket thing to help prop up rolls will be the SMRs. The Anglesey site is begging for rolls to be slotted in and in my opinion would provide an easy solution for the government to prop up RR.

Doesn't fix the rest of the travel and aerospace which will still need support but still it's a multi-win move IMO for the government, especially as I think it'll represent a cost saving too.

Wondering if this would have caused enough people to get out or for those shorters to take their profits after the short sharp drop - such that it would help stabilise an upward trend? Lots of selling at 4p and can't imagine the selling pressure would remain at that level especially if it recovers to that level quickly. Will continue to be an interesting week

i do think this is part of a bigger picture as has been said. Can't see dollens sanctioning this if its not got a firm positive for the business in the background. And as pointed out the other significant shareholders would have been party to this.

I remain in and have added more shares in the meantime, but the RNS flurry was manipulation for the fundraise. Suppose are can't complain the share-price would no doubt be much worse if they followed through with this before a bump up in share price.

TI would probably question my position depending on price if they took that approach. I would presume though that the share dilution at this point would be done for the foreseeable. I certainly hope so anyway
