I take zero pleasure in saying this, in fact the whole thing is making me sick, but when those Russian body bags start coming back home I think Putin will be under severe internal pressure to go, both from politicians and the Russian people.
I think he's gambling on an anti-West/pro-Russia wave of support, but we're already seeing anti-war demonstrations. I think he's got it wrong in so many ways.
The generation you see abroad now know how tough it was for those in the Soviet era, I don't think they're going to sit back and watch their own lifestyle, ambitions and futures be flushed down the toilet by Putin's crazy ideology. He's stabilised Russia, got it some respect back but now???

This stock is OBVIOUSLY played outside of the normal rules of supply and demand. EVERY opportunity to pull it down is taken, regardless of the buying vs selling volumes.

If you want a green economy, you'll need PGMs, which means you'll need to trade with Russia for them whether people like it or not, fact!
As Biden said "sanctions are there to hurt Putin and Russia, not us".
There obviously has to be some impact on the West, but you can see sanctions are measured.
There is also no appetite for direct military intervention.
Hopefully this will de-escalate soon, for all concerned.

There's not been many posts on here that haven't expressed concern at the actual and potential loss of life and suffering in Ukraine.
But you've also got to remember a lot have their own futures tied in to Eurasia's viability too. OK, maybe not life & death, but probably future quality of life.
It's Putin with blood on his hands, not us.

Laid a challenge this morning regards the much quoted "If" poem, not many passed the test today.
Sanctions mainly focused on finance and technology, so Eurasia flying under that 'radar', so far.
I think these will have some bite and yes, Putin really isn't making many friends here, internationally or domestically.
(Not sure how much China is bankrolling him and ergo how long he can carry on.)
Ukrainians not backing down, Russian bodies coming back already, it's not going to be a bloodless Coup.
Biden confirmed no direct military support.
I'm hoping sanctions bite soon, common sense prevails and lives, bodies and futures are saved.
I'll admit I didn't think he'd 'pull the trigger', but as I said the other day, I think this has more impact on timelines than outcome. I still believe that.
It is what it is. I hope this is over soon for for everyone's sake.
