what,s your point ref site managers are chippys who have worked there way up? That's where a massive % of site managers come from. If i was senior management, i would want men/women with hands on site experience. Remember Frank Taylor (TW) was once a chippy from Blackpool with no qualifications.

they are a good run company just wish they would change there logo( local builder) it sounds small fry.. they are well run and deserve the lions share of goverments budget..BTW have a look at styles and wood (STY) i am imformed by a good friend in construction that they are close to agreeing a decent amount of work with asda in 09 and are also now recently doing refurbish work with barclays..

thats miles away from the truth . very strict rules?????? id love to know them ,you obviously dont work in construction mate? i do. ive looked on nhs tenders list for west berkshire and done research on companys who have been given orders. honestly they have been trading for 12months max and have no city and guilds cert holders or nothing, and only have eastern european workers who wont be getting paid much at all . trust me i have seen and witnessed it for myself. admittedly if a schools or hospitals are having Major works or new build then yes these contracts are given to companys like Rok but not re furbs or tart ups. and thats what the next 3/4 years will be for goverment run buildings

be careful this could drop to single figures very soon. someone quoted about school refurbs and stuff. trust me i have worked on loads of schools and hospitals and you would be amazed that local small builders even one man bands (set up as ltd companys) are getting more and more works from schools even the nhs. rok cant compete with these people with there overheads.come april when everyone gets 09/10 budgets to spend (which will be considerably less than 07/08) schools hospitals ect will be having to pick the cheapest. its gonna be bumpy in constuction
