I agree, I think this is so oversold not that much really changed when it was 50p a share and the Directors were buying. Website is excellent, the new store formats exceeding expectations. It’s just the old dowdy ones that are earmarked to go and money provisioned to do that.
There are some additional outside possibilities such as someone might rise out of the crowd and give everyone a Brexit vote based on real data now (albeit limited). I think we all know if that happens UK will vote to stay this time. That would send the UK market up about 400 and Debenhams etc up in similar veign. The receivers of HMV could do a deal with Debs where we have a small HMV next to the gym’s in the more modern stores. I think that would have a lot of positive synergies as a thought.

In China every company has to ring fence itself with an approved business liscence which must be P&L audited and taxes paid. So easy to do and make all companies trading in the UK pay massive auditable taxes, yet we don’t do that, I wonder why?

This is such an overlooked and undervalued share. They are also sitting on net cash $50m before today’s oil also

Buy a book on something called value investing, it will open your eyes to whole new world. Rev, retained profit as a ratio of market cap value. It’s no hard fella, expect a significant drop in SP over the long term with brief rest bites from positive news before the spiral downwards and more shares in issue (Its called dilution WA) and it’s really bad news if you want to make money from investing in equities.

Starting to see some dawning of the reality of the foreign AIM listing. As stated in previous posts it will never generate any meaningful cash and the ratio of profit is spread across 7 billion shares - Then there is the Alaska winters, earthquakes, ice road truckers. At what expense that leaves any real returns for investors, really folks !

Hi Maverick, another cash generator that’s significantly undervalued is Genel. Take a look at their fundamentals when time allows if that’s not the new investment you refer to in your post already.

Good point on the 50p, clearly with hindsight he paid to much or he paid fair value and Debs is oversold. Note the Director purchase prices this year too. Well he doesn’t but from memory I think he needs either 51% or 65% I would need to check the rules. He has 29% already so he can low ball but I think he could face a hostile come out of the woodwork if he low balls too much. Also ideally he would want the current BOD to support his offer although not a must have. Hence my speculation on a 15p ish bid.

MA could definitely take out Debs for 15p per share to take private. Put it into administration and buy the best bits back for his own ends once he restructures lumps of the stores into different divisional businesses. Namely all the Pooh into a single entity eg High leases and dead area high streets. His teams are probably half way through this excercise now.

Buyers want this as cheap as possible. Expect 30 to 40p max. A lot of rampers posting twaddle as usual. Bidding war is speculation. Only Virgin are in talks. Stobart got to 40p and walked away, since then losses and debt are higher indicating 30 to 35p I would think without a bidding war, maybe 40p in a bidding war.

People relax, look at the data here. Debt is high and a little expensive to service, external to this Bucher and his teams are really up for the fight to make this the sexiest greatest shopping experience in the high street. When you travel around look at the stores and what’s going on. Their internet shopping site is fantastic now because they have some Amazon folks running it. Let’s be honest internet is great but isn’t also great to burn a few calories actually getting into Debs then refueling over a coffee and a cake in their cafe these days. Leases are hurting the P&L and they often have nasty early redemption clauses but these folks will do well and this will be investable again in say 3 - 6 months. Look at what Astley paid for his 29% (near 50p). The shorters, Brexit etc are making everyone fearful - Remember Buffet’s mantra “Be greedy when everyone is fearful and fearful when everyone is greedy” I’m above 1m shares now and not concerned.
