Hi Oakey, I think your post is very close to the facts. Our dear old Mike Ashley started stake building making sure he has enough voting rights with his followers to keep control. MA knows if he gets to much percentage MM & followers will probably vote to dilute further on an uninvited book and build for BOD members only. I think MA + Kelso + Selkirk + positively influencing PU’s want to get enough shares to block a low ball bid from MM. (Well I really hope so anyway).

I’m not sure this conspiracy theory of setting up a sham company to make a sham bid has any merit at at all. The SP stayed exactly the same because MM has so far destroyed all the value from what 800p at peak to 30p. It really is down to him not dilluting anymore and selling the leases to a an unrelated party and demonstrating he is serious about making THG Institutional Investable. PI’s are a lot of fast money and noise and if your big PLC you really don’t want them as your bulk investors. Volex is a good example of a share that went from main market averaging 350p to AIM averaging 250p ish. Now we are FTSE 250 / 350 it doesn’t work when MM keeps destroying investor trust hence fair value right now somewhere between 75p to 90p trading g around 30p. It’s a real shame MM and Lord Lucan are steering the wheel and I feel until they go or an aggressive open cash bid comes in (That’s what I’m praying for). They are still not making any profit after tax due to high interest rate payments and also lease payments to a shell company by that crook called MM. They are not in a healthy financial position to start paying dividends yet. One lives in hope for future as they did indeed say the company would be cash generative and capable of paying dividends. Unfortunately our CEO spouts more lies and BS than Trump (Almost)

I’ve been thinking exactly the same thing. Low SP high spread I’m wondering if we had auditor issues delaying publication. If all is good and true per last update we should be seeing a nice jump up but we are not - Fingers crossed we get a released of results promise date very soon.

I wonder if MM wants to play a cruel trick on the shorters by actually showing a maiden net profit after tax, announce a share buy back and a small dividend and additional clarity and simplification of shares in issue etc and make everything totally Institutional Investor friendly, do some investor road shows, get loads of II’s onboard slaughtering any short positions in the process…..Oh I dare but dream a dream, role on 30th April anyway 🤞

Exactly Theta, whoever brought My Protien would be immediately dropped by everyone else. This is why supermarkets don’t buy producers only other supermarkets. Bit obvious and a very numpty thing to say on a BB really folks. 🫣

I think latest brokers estimates are valuing at 47p per share as well. Could it be MM is looking to redeem himself after being an absolute sherhite for years, could a leopard change its spots or is it just wishful thinking. My mental bar is soooo low with THG now it’s depressing - GLA

My guess is 3 more results (interims & FY). But hey who really knows. WJG will thrive on any downward interest rate trends, latest news seems to think this will happen in around 3 months ish. Everything is a risk and UK shares are not trading at fair value. W Buffet says making money is the patient getting rich from the impatient and looking for shares that trade close to net asset value. If one believes this old boys investment theorems them WJG tick and seagull it if boxes. Not sure why maybe its investors seeing the value but the volumes are significantly up recently and its very predominantly buys. So its been an excellent week so far 🤞👍

I should say 15% of my total portfolio in WJG of course (not 15 shares 🙈). In qty it’s 1M shares, so hoping they double and set my retirement and many golfing holidays with the wife & son. (All golf lovers 🤗).

Well “Down today” turned into a nice 10% “Up today”. I hold around 15 shares in my portfolio am just over 60 been trading since age of 20 and I’m very over weight on WJG. I think this has the most potential to double my money in 18 months - Let’s see GLA fellow longs / bulls on WJG. 🤞

It’s amazing that how the group does better and better the SP falls. The positive of this is they are buying a lot of shares for cancellation at really low SP’s, way below fair value. Very high quality working capital, really solid cash generation and focus. One day when Trump goes or he gets impeached and we can get back to normality globally Pebble should really take off if it doesn’t fall victim to low ball aggressive M&A.

I like the fact they are now doing cladding upgrades for others buildings as a new profit centre and the Refresh & Fresh is continually expanding. Trump tariffs have no direct effect on WJG aside from the facts of market wide pull backs from his numpty irresponsible behaviours (When the tide goes out all boats sit lower in harbour). Frankly this is a really superb time to be topping up in WJG. Seriously seriously undervalued at below 30p. I could see this at 60p today in a strong market, with more progress up to 100p.

Lot of nonsense and misinformation about the company spouted saying it’s run badly and TT bid was a disaster etc. The real facts are the SP has followed the AIM markets and when it was stable between 350p & 400p it was not on AUM and hence had a lot of II’s rather than short term penny traders. I’m glad the TT deal got rejected as it’s not worth 160p of anyone’s money. Vlx come out of that a little better than break even. NR buying this dip, other directors will probably follow. Fair value right now c. 300p with more to come.

This is the fear Rogue, WJG is very vulnerable to a determined low ball take out right now. 50p would get it done. They do say also a lot of revenue and better earnings are confirmed as we can see in the RNS’s but they all have 1 to 2 year gestation periods to completion and earnings (They are good at preserving cash which is very important in this current environment). However the negative is again today’s market a low ball take out is probably ever present and it hit like a non forecasted hurricane. I think this will be at 100p in about 2 years time on its own if we can avoid a take out meanwhile.

Big drop in net profits and EPS - RNS reads really well until we get to all important retained profit. Mmmh

I’m hearing from my COO of a PLC that I’ll remain nameless that there is quite a lot of build up of investment interest from US companies ready to pounce on UK companies as both the GBP is expected to weaken further against the USD and many UK. companies are in a very oversold (undervalued) situation. They are not diving into the pool right away as they will want to see more clarity from the current chaos. All in all I think WSJ has many bull cases as an excellent investment. We know they serve a market short of student and private government paid accommodation, net assets close or above current market cap depending on how one looks at the leasing costs. I wouldn’t be surprised if a Vistry or Berkeley etc leverage up and take out WJG at these low prices also.

Wookie, what makes you conclude the acquisition is disaster? Nearly all shares are about 50% of peak value due to Trump. Crawl out of your cave, switch on your TV and catch up with current events. You piped off prematurely didn’t you ahead of the trading update you so desperately needed.

Wookie you’re talking a load of angry rubbish. Vlx loaded up in TT at around 76p and got out around 100pz a small net gain after costs. Hardly a disaster.
