Net profits puzzle9 Mar 2026 10:05
I am trying to work out potential net profit for this year (mostly from Pyebridge):
2024 had a loss of 1.2 m, even after Pye generated 770k gross profit. So total costs of around 2 m a year
2025 is predicted to double that Pye gross to 1.5 m. However the operating costs will also rise considerably -cost of that gas/ em[ployees working longer, etc, so it will not be a simple case of deducting 1.5m from the 2m total running costs for this year. I suspect the operating costs will have increased by up to 50% meaning a potential loss of around 750,000 for 2025.. The other variable is the electricity selling price which was 200 quid in 2024 that dropped to 125 quid in '25.
More to the point: this year Pye is forecast to generate upto 3 m - provided the monthly figure for January is repeated throughout the remaining months.
But because we do not know the proportional costs associated with generating the 3 m, it is difficult to see what any net profit will look like. Assuming these costs increase by around 50% (which may be a low estimate) and the selling price is again around 125 quid, you are looking at net profit of around 500,000 after loans are paid, and the selling price is at least 125 quid. But there are still far too many variables to have any clear sight here.
