Pap
Your getting your knickers in a twist. You make the mistake, many make in, trying to over play a point that actually misses the point.
I may not articulate myself to well, but the point being, it's a mistake to look at the FTSE from 1999 until now.
The 1999 high was artificial. It should never have been that high in the first place. People buying then were buying on the spike of all spikes.
Your friend Toff, did not understand the point I was making about Woodford. I know what happened to him since, but he took plaudits at the time for not suffering huge losses in the years after the dot-com boom.
If you look at the start of the FTSE in 1984, look were the bottom was after dot-com, look were the bottom was after the financial crisis and look were it has recovered from now. You will see a steady rise, if you understand dot-com and pre 2007 crisis were over inflated tops.
It has gone nowhere in 20 years because only a risk taking trader would have been buying in 1999 or a complete amateur.
Its you and your mate that make rude judgements on people's intelligence, I was just making an observation.
I won't be making any more on this board.
