Nice post, could well be right there...if they were swallowed up Potter and co could walk away very wealthy i guess and maybe bag lucrative jobs with major to boot keeping the experience on board...we could all bag a few times and walk away happy. It's still a risky play until an announcement as you say..lets roll the dice!

If we get the o.k from BG, then that should shore the SP up while we sit back and wait for them to poke a hole in the sea bed...think Potter said it would take around 12 months to get everything in place for a drill, thats unless they've allready been working on it behind the scenes. All we get to see is the RNS after all

I think it is separate Urban, not an expert on the EA but i think BPC have to show they will meet or exceed BG's environmental standards during operations, and anyone they partner with the same to do with pollution, safety measures incase of accidents, fires, spills etc?...redundancypot yes its a slow burner but seems to be moving in the right direction, i would rather they take there time and exceed all safety measures, as a shareholder the last thing i would want to see is an environmental incident...only the rampers are impatient ;)...some right idiots on other investment sites BB's claiming to have inside knowledge from 'Contacts or mates' and naming majors as dead certs!!! The SP seems to settle when theres no arguing and ramping on here :) Imo

Dont' think BG can afford to say no to drilling when the IMF have got them in a strangle hold, a deal and a successful drilling campaign and they can stick two fingers up to the IMF for good if its a big enough find. Civil servants whont like there salary being cut as the IMF suggest in there report, a fair few would change there mind about the oil i suspect. Anyone ever thought if the major could be a wildcard? KPC (Kuwait Petroleum) are looking abroad for acquisitions and working with financial institutions on matters...macquarie and Wren House Infrastructure (kuwait's Investment vehicle) have worked together on acquisitions previously. Purely speculating but though i'd throw it into the mix as food for thought. It does hold value though, if BPC shut up shop tommorrow and threw all the data and permits in the bin after a major had seen the there were big deposits there, how much would it cost the major to find out where the oil was again??? Could they lobby the government?? This is built on more than just data, theres years and years of debating across tables, drinks at the bar and over dinners gone into this...you cant put a price on how much would it cost someone to start all over again and build relationships? And could they pull it off even if they tried.
