Jersey,
As Dark has said, looking into the risks is the first thing you should do before even contemplating in investing.
Realistically, although possible, on the balance of probability it’s unlikely that the BoD will settle for an offer below what equates to 20p. From our current position it’s likely (although still not guaranteed) you will make a profit on any investment you make below 20p. Obviously the risk increases with every penny you invest above this mark.
The offer situation you raise is a good question. This is a very delicate area for the share price in the short term. If, on the unlikely scenario, a statement was to come in confirming the company hasn’t received any offers, then we would likely see a mass sell out, as people try take solidly profits and mitigate losses. If we received an offer but it was not accepted by the BoD, many would sell out still but others would buy-in. It all depends on how news is released. Take AMER as a prime example, an offer was received initially, the BoD rejected it but announced the figure and stated the thought it was worth considerably more. The share price jumped considerably.
My personal view is that because the BoD have been holding for so long and have substantial holdings, it’s likely they are going to sell on any offer that isn’t sub-standard.
