Firstly, if the institution is a major shareholder, it does not mean it is their own funds, it could be clients dumping Cap-XX and the Institution reduce their aggregated holding due to that. Secondly, fund managers operate under mandates and compliance rules. If a company looks like it is heading for administration then it could be automatic sell, regardless of whatever events might happen - i.e. someone like Cooley buying in.
