That is pretty much how I have understood it. That the previous judgements by the Ministry can not automatically prevent the case for compensation.

Again, the pieces are coming together. It didn't really need confirmation, but information like this adds to the belief that we have a really strong case.

Before everyone gets too excited, if you look at the Environmental Impact Statement, you will see that "It is anticipated that drilling will start approximately 21 months after project sanction" Therefore drilling was never going to happen in the second half of 2019 as this article suggests.
21 months from an expected project sanction of June 2019 is.....early 2021!

Perhaps others will have more up to date numbers, but Well Team Leaders used to be on £1k day rate. These are senior positions being filled. Surely not the actions of a company who are "kicking the project down the road"?

Having spoken to one of the companies that have a LOI, it is their understanding that contracts will be signed between one and two months from now. Seems like everyone is working to the same timescale

On the 30th July you said "It's the Ocean Monarch, trust me." in reference to which rig was planned to do the SL drilling.

I see now that rig has been booked until 2021 in Australia

Any idea as to the name of the rig now?

My understanding from the EIA for SL was that for all of the potential impacts, only 13 remained of any significance. It might be that the Export agency believes that none of those impacts "has the potential to have significant adverse
environmental and/or social impacts" which is the OECD definition for a Category A project.
