Couldn't agree more, I sold up last year.
I've neglected this company recently but the 31st January news on the SUN website saying GB had been to a medical conference in the Middle East cheered me immensely as my great fear has been that they were too dependent on the US market. With a broader international base I feel much happier with my investment. I say a weak buy as there is no indication that they have any intention to ever pay a dividend!
And then the government wonders why we are reluctant to invest!
This battle between MOG &LGO investors. Usually in these court cases they are not solved out of court because either one party is so big that they can bleed the other dry by appealing every time a verdict goes against them, or the big personalities on the Boards will never admit they can be wrong. None of them care about the investors.
Why invest here when a share like QPP goes up almost daily? the basics of EKT are quite OK it's just that there are more profitable places to put ones cash.
The fall in share price was, according to the company due to shortage of cash by government and quasi-government bodies resulting in defferal of new contracts. Basically the company is highly experienced in this field and is well ahead of most of the competion. its big advantageis tat it has had highly reliable units installed which can be seen by potential customers. I remember Harry Tee coming into an AGM, many years ago, carrying an object shaped like a Christmas tree, warning us to look away, then turning on this blinding array of LED lights which were to be installed at the top of an American skyscraper. I sold some, on the bad news, to get more QPP but I'm getting back in again now.
Apologies for my omiting the trade unionists from my congratulations in my post of 21 November. I have always been impressed by the representatives at the AGM. In my view good relations with the workforce are vital and a good TU team provide a useful conduit of information to management.
The Force Mageure declaration was to prevent BG being sued by customers should they be unable to fulfill orders to contract terms. Until we know a lot more the effect on future profits is unquantifiable,
Short of cash as I am, these will be the last I shall sell, they have a great future imo!
This year's results are likely to be poor as the first three quarters were bad. The China operation was a mistake exacerbated by young management and the difficulty of incorporating Hartest, a company larger than EKT at the time, into the combined group. Now that the Board have gained experience this now looks to be a good recovery play. Note that the Chairman holds over 16million shares and is very experienced.
I can only say I bought TEG and ALK at around the same time a couple of years ago. ALK has doubled TEG has shrunk! My own fault I should have known a tip from an accountant was suspect!
Nice analysis!
This depressing RNS is already out of date with the gold price going up again. GGP look particularly good.
Most electronics companies suffered badly in 2013 but imo 2014 is looking. Ever since my first buy, which left me well out of pocket I've bought on the dips with considerable success and am now in profit. Hope you can do the same Jazz. GL
Do we really believe gold is finished? I think that probably the only time Dr. Joeph Goebels told the truth was when he said that people would believe a lie well told if it was repeated often enough. At these prices I shall raid the piggy bank and buy a few more.
Apologies salz and Affe it was a stupid mistake due mainly to seeing the dreadful gold price. I meant /oz of course; I see that now its $1198/oz. It's almost to fall again tomorrow, but sanity may return next week and the price start rising again hopefully PAF have some long term contracts with the Chinese.
