My SIPP is with James Hay and I use the IG trading platform. I can’t fault either, very low fees and never had any issues.

There’s many people made lottery wins out of RR the last couple of years. Many will now be thinking is it time to lock in those gains. Me for one, I’ve now decided to retire, I can’t risk doing that with all my eggs in one basket, so I’ve sold up. Any share that’s been on such an incredible run is bound to be quite volatile as people consolidate their gains.

RR are now half way through the £1b share buy-back program. It has taken 101 working days spending on average £5m per day. They are right on track to complete the buy-back by year end as was originally stated.

The £14 share price from about 10 years ago is completely irrelevant to today’s share price. There are now over 4 times the number of shares in circulation due to the rights issue. This means the share price is actually over £40 now in old money i.e. directly comparable with the £14. It’s market capitalisation that matters not the price of one share when the number in circulation has changed so much over the years.

Murder/suicide by one of the pilots. It may be difficult to find out which one as it could be the one asking the other if he’s switched the fuel off to deflect the blame. The fuel was cut off seconds after takeoff off. The fuel was switched back only seconds later but it takes about a minute for the engines to relight and spool up, the plane crashed 30 seconds later. Once those switches were thrown, seconds after takeoff, the plane was doomed.

The aircraft registration is VT-ANB and is powered by two General Electric GEnx-1B64 engines.

We’re not immune to the world economy which is closely linked to aircraft flying hours though. Hopefully seen as good news.

They are buying on the open market from 4 exchanges, one of which is the LSE. They spend on average about 0.5% of the £1b pot per day, so at that rate it will take to the end of the year which was what they initially declared when the buyback was announced.

They’ve only spent 28.7% of the £1b buyback pot so far from finished.

Sorry Svend, I didn’t mean to come across so aggressively, that’s the problem with social media rather than dealing with people face to face as we always used to! Please carry on with your canvassing of opinions, it is interesting to hear what everyone thinks, it’s just I thought the question could be more relevant. For what it’s worth, I’m thinking £8.95 COP on decision day, based on getting 75% of the UK SMR business. I hope I’m excessively pessimistic though!

This exam question is flawed and irrelevant. If the share price goes up to £10 prior to decision day and then drops 5% to £9.50, everyone would still be delighted relative to today’s price. Conversely if the share price was to drop to £6 prior to decision day and then put on 20% to £7.20 holders would have lost out relative to today’s price.

It would be better to ask for share price predictions for close of play on decision day.

Payments to shareholders

As announced on 27 February 2025, the Group is recommencing dividends and, subject to shareholder approval at the AGM to be held on 1 May 2025, the Directors recommend a final cash dividend of 6 pence per ordinary share for the year ended 31 December 2024, to be paid on 16 June 2025 to shareholders on the register on 22 April 2025. The total dividend for the year is 6 pence per ordinary share (2023: nil). The Company will be introducing a dividend reinvestment programme, further details can be obtained from our Registrar, Equiniti Limited, see below.

The ex-dividend date is 22nd April. If you hold shares on that date you will be paid the dividend on 16th June providing it is voted in at the AGM on 1st May.

As of Wednesdays close they’d spent £198m which is only about £20% of the committed £1b. There was no RNS this morning so I suspect no purchases yesterday unless someone forgot to submit it.

Very odd way of looking at it. Us owners put our own capital into the company in 2020 and us owners have now reaped unbelievable rewards. It’s not lost money as it would be to Wonga.

I don’t think the exchange rate is the full story here, RYCEY closed at $10.80 which is £8.42 at 0.78£/$. That’s a large difference to the £8.00 odd we are trading at over here.

They’re currently buying about £5million worth per day which is 0.5% of their £1billion buyback. At that rate it will take 200 working days which takes us to the end of the year which is their declared cut off. The daily rate on average can’t reduce from what they are currently doing. If everyone realises that, it may reduce the urge to sell and increase the share price still further.
