Please can you explain why NN weren’t able to do this the case of Russian Platinum’s license area in Taimyr?

It doesn’t disclose who the South African miner is Chris, could be any of them. What is interesting is Polymetal getting involved in PGMs and that the South Africans may have a presence in Russia.

Polymetal have a PGM resource at Karelia which south of Kola. They are discussing a partnership with a South African company who has experience in processing platinum. Article also mentions Lesego’s previous DD on EUA, although doesn’t mention James having joined. So we have this project (Polymetal / South African JV), Federova (Rostec / Private Consortium), Norilsk (Russian Platinum off take agreement with NN). Travel restrictions may have caused delays but we can see some large projects are being negotiated, one of which involving South African investment and processing expertise.

Seems Mr Kogan who wrote the investing.com ru article I posted a little while ago was unmoved by this weeks events and below says we are the best (assume they mean investing) idea in their database! Obviously DYOR and all that as I’m only using google translate and don’t know how well followed the below website is but from their poll, EUA still has solid support in the form of their People’s rating (57 for and 7 against - yes they do have derampers in Russia too lol). Oh and the 40 pounds figure below is a result of google translate!

UPDATE 01/28/2021 Status: Closed by timeout. Comment: At the moment, the share price reached 40 pounds, and the yield was in theory 1200%. Ironically, the stock fell 40% yesterday. However, it is a sin to complain. And this seems to be the best idea ever in our database.

I wonder if Alexei’s role was to set up off take agreements with NN hence he’s now not party to the final discussions. This would be so any purchaser of MT doesn’t have to spend time doing this in conjunction with negotiating the deal for MT as well. NN pulled out of the Russian Platinum project as we know, maybe they’re happy to let others mine and focus their capex on upgrading their processing facilities if ultimately, they get the metals anyway: http://www.russian-platinum.ru/press/news

Just my wild speculation so hopefully no offence caused but maybe NN were never going to be the buyer but will be integral to the overall deal by removing the need for the buyer to set up processing facilities that comply with new Russian environmental standards. Guess we’ll find out soon, I still think full sale of MT to one party and either keep WK or sell on to another.

From the O&G side but reminds me of how many natural resources Russia has. I think Russia is fully aware of the value of foreign direct investment and the conditions needed to attract investors:
