This looks like a very shrewd acquisition on reasonable terms. Anyone interested should watch the short animation about the molecule on the Destiny Pharma website and the summary of the phase 2b results. This is obviously an investment for the long term but the potential upside is massive.

Counterbid unlikely but not impossible as it looks like they have snapped up a bargain.

Yet another perfect example of an AIM value trap.

To prevent a material reduction in NAV per share, I calculate that the money invested would have to return over 45%. This is simply not going to happen.

The inability or disinclination to fund growth by using a credit facility or raising capital at a reasonable discount to NAV rings a loud alarm bell.

No doubt the likes of the IC will be banging the drum to recruit the next cohort of suckers but I think that retail investors are getting wise to the true meaning of the term 'bargain shares'.

By my calculation this latest placing is at a jaw dropping 30% to last published book value. For me this is one giant red flag.

The last placing was at 35p just two years ago. The dividends can not possibly compensate for this pattern of deeply discounted fund raising. At this rate the next will be at 20p in 2026. No wonder the SP has nosedived in recent weeks in anticipation.

I am tempted now to classify this as yet more aim garbage run for the benefit of insiders.

For what it's worth I will be voting against at the EGM.

There's almost no point in participating in AIM open offers at the moment. The SP almost inevitably drops below the offer price, sometimes significantly, before recovering if you're lucky. I am beginning to feel a fool for taking up my allocation.

The same can not be said for the ridiculous stamp duty payable on UK headquartered stocks.
