Can you imagine the MESS that you lot would make(me included by the way)if we all brought our own crayons and tried to explain what we thought SYME were all about and why it would or would not work , that would be one helluva Jackson Pollock right there!

I think it is fair to say that it will need to be simplified somewhat to make it more attractive to investors.

In the meantime i will take Divvyups advice , probably the most sensible thing anyone has posted all day.

I am somewhat torn , my gut feeling is that at some point it may well dissappear without trace but as i am invested here i am trying to remain positive , it's a fine line though...

Huh? one contract of 366million? ...of which SYME would get how much?

That is a mind boggling amount of shares and even more so when you consider that you could actually give every human being on the planet FIVE shares each and still have some left over!
...and that DOSN'T include the warrants!

A lot of this accounting stuff just makes a gentle whooshing noise as s it passes over my head!
But I know where the bottom line is.
On completion of this upcoming first IM will Nicola Bonini be able to point to this transaction and say
"look guys , here it is and this is how it works , you raise cash against your inventory without incurring any debt"
100% nailed down, no if's , no buts , no maybe's , no nasty comebacks , beyond any shadow of a doubt.
That's the bottom line , that's where we need to be , that's what will make SYME a success.
Anything short of that and our potential will be compromised to one degree or another , maybe even terminally.
Now , is that where we are at?

IF first IM is completed on time there will likely be a small surge in SP , whether that will lead to any sustained increase will depend on how that IM is received. In order to take a view on that we would need to know something about the terms of the transaction , I don't know how much of those terms we will be privy to , if any. Again , a lot of it will come down to the true sale question.
Just the fact of first IM getting done will be a positive but in and of itself will not be enough. It must not only work as true sale but it MUST BE SEEN TO WORK AS TRUE SALE!
That is the only thing that will get the punters in the door.
Just my opinion though.

I think the fact that AZ has assured us that first IM will take place before the end of July has led some to the conclusion that we are almost there ,

Best not to draw conclusions from promises though ,
better to draw conclusions from actions ,
as yet , we are long on promises and short on actions.
Melville1's post may be harsh but on the bare facts it may not be unreasonable , if we don't got true sale we don't got nothin' , I would love to be proved wrong but the jury is still out.
If you are taking true sale as a given then great!
You are quids in , but the fat lady ain't singin' yet.
In fact , she ain't even in the building!
First IM is not the be all and end all , must be judged on it's merits , must be the real thing not a lash up , must be true sale.
Still a long way from home and hosed , not a nay sayer , just a realist, don't get ahead of yourselves, this is still a longshot , would love to see it succeed but still a long road to travel.

You may well be right srangemartian but James and Collis are also directors of SYME and would be pretty bad form for them to take large cash payouts when SYME are clearly strapped for cash so maybe one could read too much into it...

Do you know if that was a case of TJ & JC choosing shares over cash or was it a case of take the shares because we haven't got any cash?

Hi Magpies , yes , posts often disappearing, can be rather irksome!
I think the answer to your question is that what SYME is trying to bring to the market s inventory monetisation WITHOUT DEBT.
If they were only offering conventional finance they would have no edge over the competition already occupying that space , not to mention no money of their own.
That is why so much hinges on the true sale issue.
At least that's how I see it.
I am sure others would be able to give you a much better answer but that is the bare bones of it anyway.

I am not an accounting expert , in fact it is a subject about which I have very little if any worthwhile knowledge.
I like to think however that I do have at least a modicum of common sense and I think it is reasonable to stay that there are still questions to be answered around true sale.
I do not think there will be a huge or sustained uptick on news of first IM this month , if indeed it takes place at all.
Of course there will be much celebration and popping of corks etc but then when the dust settles there will still be some questions to ask.
It is not in and of the first IM itself that will get the price moving it is how that first IM is received.
Will it be seen as a successful genuine transaction or just a lash up? ...and most importantly of all will it be deemed to be a true sale and , if so , when will we know.
If the first IM is seen to be a success, how much further business will it generate?
I am not a nay sayer, just a realist and very much hoping for a good outcome.

Potential to be a moderate success, maybe even a rip roaring success and it certainly has the potential to go tits up in a big way!
As you rightly say Peak , no one knows the outcome , lots of opinions but no one really knows.
Still , what is life without a punt?

the little grocery stores on the high street where there was a bell that rang every time a punter came through the door a little bit like Arkwrights on open all hours?
Well we need that bell to be ringing pretty much non stop in order to make any meaningful brass , as yet SYME have not had so much as one single solitary tinkle.
I have a nightmare vision of AZ in a brown overall pacing fretfully up and down saying " wer wer wer wer wer is everybody Granville?"
Now please don't misunderstand me , I would love for this to succeed , I have my hard earned cash in the pot , and trust me , it IS hard earned but I can't help but have my reservations, the punters just don't seem to be kicking the doors in and when you consider that SYMES margins must surely be tighter than an otters earole' we need them to be queing out the door , down the high street and round the bend!
This first IM MUST happen this month and AZ and his crew MUST get on the front foot with the sales pitch!
There was a guy at the AGM , an investor , who said that none of his colleagues in the business community had ever even heard of SYME and what they offer , that just won't do , a bit like my old school reports ; has ability but must "try harder"
