The latest Investing Matters Podcast with Jean Roche, Co-Manager of Schroder UK Mid Cap Investment Trust has just been released. Listen here.
Can’t believe I recommended a Porky post but on Stella I agree.
Since the shareholders are talking about Biard changes then she is right Val is not stable. That comment on stability could also refer to aboard dynamics and the environment she is operating in.
It would make no sense to me, given the strategy, to lose Stella’s expertise and contacts. Likely it was her that drive the Imagen acquisition which had been universally welcomed.
Been in business for 40 years. When building a team to drive and execute Stella would be a first pick. To be successful you can’t be liked by everyone but you can earn their respect!
I think this year I will attend the AGM in person to assess for myself the Board dynamics and who has the drive, determination and vision to execute the strategy and add value. I would urge all that can do so to do the same
Further to my earlier post no mention of Gerry, a hangover from the G&S years . I suspect his fate is sealed
Obviously we don’t know Adam’s position but I suspect that of the Board May we’ll change if the Chairman is voted out. I didn’t think structuring processes and procedures, required by law and which outsourcers can do amounted to much of an achievement!
Bagman - I have worked all over the world with multiple cultures. Some cultures are very straight talking - an admirable trait. Others you have to decipher what they are saying. Stella made a good point in that we should have been talking about the science. In her second language, in the context of her own culture, she made the point that she would invest when she considered the business stable enough to be a good long term investment prospect. Personally I think she is just who we need on the Board whilst the Chair seemed to be writing his resignation letter
Interesting news over on Val if a fire sale acquisition including a bio cell data set. Maybe an opportunity for more collaboration with PYC as a result ?
Whilst the BOD have taken some well deserved stick, and I wonder about the effectiveness of some members , Val are delivering on their stated strategy and adding assets including patent protection.
I would advocate waiting until the presentation and Q&A to fully understand progress and potential before making your voting decisions.
We live in hope !
Does PYC still have any skin in the game ??
All made to those in the firing line……
Absolutely agree 6th. Can only assume those wanting wholesale BoD change at this time have never run a company. Selective perhaps, wholesale no.
The Q&A is an essential part of the decision making process!
If there is a deal in the offing let’s hope Me Dressler isn’t the one negotiating it. His track record is hardly enviable lol
Well Jinks - being 12 years in some members on this BB rescued me and the current BOD made that happen. Be careful what you wish for as to change the BOD would risk all in my opinion. I have however voted Gerry off as he has been a constant in all the consolidations that I have endured and I cannot comprehend what value add he has.
For the first time in a long while we have a strategy and a vision. With the exception of the preemptive rights issue I’m a supporter
Soooo refreshing to see this post on the BB. Have had a look myself this morning and it's an interesting hypotheses you put forward IB60. Particularly so if you read the wording regarding the fothcoming SEC sunmission and previous statements from VAl re 201 being central to the THX project
My bad typing. You will see in the link we are talking about the same company
What would be the correct on BagMann?
Has anybody out there found records of anything Dr Theo Ndatimana, owner of Theirem Rx has actually achieved. I can't and would be interested in wht others have found.
Did come aross this from Jan 2022. Has a shae price graph demonstrating the impact of announcement from which we know sunk steadily since. I think come the AGM that we need some open discussion on whether the very small number of patients in the 201 trial is the stumbling block here and whether, in fact, that trial has to be repeated to gain any traction.

Incredibly Pork’s I find myself in complete agreement on the CFO point. He had been a common denominator in all the horrendous financial decisions. I can only assume he has a hold/contract that makes him difficult to dislodge. His kind of consistency we can do without !
Tonight a met someone working with people in experimental drugs trials. They are in the last chance saloon. If it works they have won the lottery. If not they have at least advanced the science.
As I read the vitriol and opinions expressed here I see we have lost that perspective. Whilst a number of us would have managed 291 differently Baer on info in the public domain maybe we would have done the same if all the information was before
A simple view. The current Board have saved the company from a clear plan to dissolve and take the IP. There is now a clear strategy. But for the legacy of the old BoD then there would be more support. Clearly a commercial mind would help significantly. The FD must have agreed to or proposed the previous debacles and that they remain in post is a mystery.
Nevertheless going back to the start Val is trailblazing and providing hope. That deserves recognition
How is it that the FD has survived so long with such a disastrous history? I just don’t understand…..
