Remember last week? Google Cloud announced it has been awarded a £400M contract to deliver a UK sovereign cloud capability for the UK Ministry of Defence. Directors on the call on Monday, mentioned working with Google, who happened to be at the Whitespace office today in Belfast.

We are pleased to announce that James Norwood, Non-Executive Vice Chairman of Defence Holdings PLC, has been appointed to NATO’s Coalition of the Willing (CoW), a select group of senior industry leaders supporting the NATO Industry Advisory Group (NIAG).

The Coalition provides expertise, research, and strategic insights across NATO tasking and studies. Members serve in a personal capacity and may in due course be elected to full NIAG membership.

James’s appointment places Defence Holdings directly alongside senior executives from major defence primes and disruptive technology companies in shaping NATO-aligned priorities. It reflects both his personal expertise and the growing recognition of Defence Holdings’ role in contributing to the sovereign digital capability agenda.

Commenting on his appointment, James said:
