For those who lived through & recall the DotCom era, many people were persuaded that the future was 'online', to the exclusion of all else.
New internet companies were being valued on such thing as the number of 'clicks' on their websites. The theory being that one day those 'clicks' would translate into purchases.
Companies whose valuations were in material things like , property, planes, buses, trains, infastructure were cast asside.
Profit making companies who made money daily, weekly, year in year out.
That was late 90's till the bubble burst
Seems familiar to now to me.....imo
