The carbon capture and re injection technology is not going to be developed by just one player it is far too important. Companies like BP who have clearly shown their hand will be at the forefront of developing along these lines and they have the distribution with contacts in place as do other majors .For this reason retaining 50%, is, in my view over optimistic. I would like to be very wrong

88e are short of cash and dilution is was inevitable just a question of how. Now we have the answer with additional prospective acres not in Icewine , is risk mitigation. Not a bad thing me thinks and if we can get two drills next year on similar terms to the last one I will be more than pleased.

Some think that PMO are infallible because they are a bigger company , well THEIR decision proves that not to be the case. Big oilers do get it wrong as did BP with Prudoe bay, they have a small cap wild cat operation to thank for their Alaskan salvation.

Tier what ever, whom ever, gave us a free drill that we would never have been able to afford. Conventional is an interesting development form the main menu of HRZ for which we have another drill free of charge. We did not get diluted for this drill, retaining 100% interest in area A. 100% of what is yet to be fully determined as is 100% increased knowledge of the HRZ in terms of adding value to any farm out for the Shale aspect, if any.

Bottom line for me is that we need at least two drills in winter 2021, a third into Alpha that is not a seasonal prisoner would be welcome. IF all three deals could be identical to the last drill with a 'tier whom ever' underwriting the cost for a farm in then I will be very pleased

BP walked away from prudoe bay and were surrendering their leases. a wild catter hit the mother load, not BP. Only problem was that lease had not yet been given back......the rest is history. Big oilers do get it wrong, the difference is they have the financial muscle to deal with it

Yes, 88e needs farm out and drills. Far easier to achieve on prime optimal land than sub optimal. Icewine acreage is hardly looking optimal at this time for conventional drilling.

I see this move with XCD as a lower risk solution to an immediate problem. We need two drills in 2021, with similar terms to that which 88e had/has with Premier oil. One in the Yukon, and one on the new shallower acres. Failure here and it will then be down to what can transpire with HRZ and or its game over. Success paints a different picture.

We now know that the HRZ sweetspot is not as far south as Icewine 1 & 2 and not as far north as the area focused on by the former Great Bear . I am looking forward to the results of the Charlie HRZ core sampling.

We are experiencing the reality of risk with a minor O & G explorer/producer. The ultimate risk being that it takes more time and money to deliver any value, if any, that has always been the risk.

Any success on winter 2021 drilling may see an opportunity to put a post hole in to the almost forgotten Alpha. Hopefully by then we will know enough to differentiate probability of oil and water/condensate in place prior to drilling. Never forgetting that only the drill bit is the full story.

Yukon may be more viable than anything on the icewine patch re conventional. Before we expressed any interest in Conventional the perceived wisdom was that we were too far south for Conventional. Thus far that school of thought has shown to be correct. I doubt it will change. Back then we speculated what a post hole in Alpha may yield being so close to the pipeline and the highway. I still do wonder.:)

I am hoping we get enough info before annual lease renewal time hits us as getting rid of a few thousand or more acres may be the best option.
